LeMay Pierce County is seeking a Licensed Welder to join our skilled maintenance team in Puyallup, Washington. This role performs essential welding and metal repair work on containers, compactors, and related equipment that supports our daily operations.   • Hourly Wage: $$27.00 to 28.00/HR
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM–1:30 PM
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform welding and repairs on metal containers, compactors, and structural components.
  • Weld using manual or semi‑automatic equipment in vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, measurements, and specifications.
  • Select appropriate welding methods and equipment for each project.
  • Inspect and test welded components to identify and correct defects.
  • Maintain a clean, safe workspace in accordance with company policies and OSHA standards.
  • Document work performed, parts used, and repair times.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and participate in a collaborative work environment.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
  • Frequent physical activity, including lifting, pushing, and pulling items over 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts; safety procedures and PPE are required and provided.
  • Work may occur indoors or outdoors depending on operational needs.
  • Some tasks require working in confined or awkward spaces or handling greasy or dirty tools.
Required Qualifications
  • Certified Welder or Fabricator (Journeyman).
  • 3–4 years of welding experience.
  • Experience using multiple welding methods and equipment (e.g., TIG, MMA).
  • Experience operating electrical and manual tools (saws, squares, calipers, etc.).
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license.
  • CDL is a strong plus.
  • Ability to pass pre‑employment screenings (background check, drug test, motor vehicle report).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English to ensure safe and accurate job performance.
