Are you a certified B Pressure Welder? Are you passionate about safety and do you want to join our dynamic maintenance team at our Base plant site? You will be able to use your expertise for the maintenance and repair of our assets by performing predictive and preventative maintenance activities safely, efficiently, and to a high quality to ensure optimum reliability and availability.

Minimum Requirements:  

  • A Valid Alberta Journeyperson Welder Certificate or an Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyperson Welder Certificate

  • B-Pressure certification

  • Five years of post-apprenticeship experience in heavy-industrial welding environment

  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) 

  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record 

Responsibilities:  

  • Fabrication and repair of pressure components and piping, as duties vary from piping to pressure vessel and structural applications in a large, multi-disciplined shop 

  • Execute all planned and break in welding repairs 

  • Operate company-provided equipment and vehicles in a safe manner 

  • Evaluate maintenance procedures, and recommend changes or modifications for improved efficiency and adaptability to setup and production 

Location and other Key Details: 

  • You will work out of our Base Plant Mine site in Fort McMurray, Alberta

  • The shift schedule is a six days on/six days off rotation (three days on, three nights on, six days off; 12-hour shifts)

  • This position is safety sensitive

  • You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces 

  • If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory. To learn more about living and working in Fort McMurray, click here
