As a member of the department operating team, individual is responsible for performing job duties of the Be Products Department which focuses on welding various materials according to specifications.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Participate in the continuous improvement process by making suggestions to Supervisors and Leads.
  • Ensure that all housekeeping requirements are met.
  • Individual must perform to Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Procedures to maintain material flow to internal and external customers. 
  • Operate leak detectors, residual gas, vacuum pumps, and MIG & TIG welders.
  • Operate Press for complex can forming, shear, roll former, press brake, and degassing furnaces.  Will program CNC for press brake and shear.
  • Perform all operations required to produce dimensionally acceptable and vacuum tight HIP cans.
  • Operate programmable vacuum and furnace controllers.
  • Understand and set up complex vacuum system circuits.
  • Read and interpret sketches, drawings, and blueprints.
  • Perform layout of steel to approximately 1/32” tolerances and to complete designs.
  • Fabricate gas rings for atomization.
  • Use proper ventilation equipment.
  • Handle and transfer hazardous solid and liquid wastes to the proper hazardous waste facility. Must observe the process operation, report any malfunction, and attempt to control the hazard per the plant emergency procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Individual must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Position requires 2 years of documented TIG/MIG welding work experience or an associate degree in Welding Technology from an accredited institution. Certification and/or periodic recertification is required.
  • Must be able to work frequently from drawings and blueprints and use measuring devices for close tolerance work. 
  • Must be able to work independently or as a member of a team to meet demands.

Must be able to demonstrate the following requirements within 90 days from starting in the position:

  • Must be able to maintain written reports & records.
  • Must be able to use basic trigonometry & mathematics in the layout of very complex cans. The use of micrometers, calipers, scales, & indicators in making critical measurements to close tolerances. Must be experienced with TIG/MIG welding techniques involving thin gauge sheet metal, aluminum, copper, stainless steel, structural welding, or pressure vessel welding.
  • Must be able to fabricate gas rings for atomization
  • Welder operator must be able to certify his/her welds through, welding cans, loading with Beryllium powder, pass hip consolidation, and TIP test to certify.
  • Must possess basic computer skills, such as Microsoft Office products and email.
  • Must demonstrate mechanical ability.
  • Must have good verbal and written skills.
  • Must have knowledge of basic math skills.
  • Must demonstrate effective interpersonal skills to provide customer service.


 

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
