A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As an Welder1 at MKS, you will partner with the Welding Department and Tech Ops to weld valves using the equipment in the High Volume weld cell . In this role, you will report the Welding Supervisor.
**Must be current MKS Inc. Contingent Worker currently holding a Welder 1 position**
You Will Make an Impact By:
• Responsible for the fabrication of Custom Products and modification of products to customer specifications
• Proficient in planning, laying-out and performing welding to a variety of stainless steel valves, gauges and other components
• Works with engineers in custom product design for production
• Completes fabrication and assembly welding from blueprints, verbal and written instructions
• Modify standard valves and components per application and engineering specifications•
Welding of various valves using automated and semi-automated equipment in the High-Capacity welding cell.
• Visually inspect parts coming off each weld station for defects.
• Responsibility 3 Occasional leak check and bead blast of parts coming offline.
Skills You Bring:
• 2+ years of related experience required
Preferred Skills:
• Stainless Steel TIG welding
• Mechanical aptitude
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
• Perform activities such as sitting, standing for extended periods of time
• Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds
• Regularly requires good manual dexterity and coordination
• Occasionally moves/positions objects up to 15 pounds
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for50% of the time
• Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand
• Must be able to exchange accurate information
• Operates in a manufacturing environment
• Constantly operates welding machineries
• Ability to observe documents and details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)
• Dedication to safety to mitigate hazards including handling mechanical and electrical hardware, high voltage, gas, water, and heat
• Regular interaction with hazardous materials, necessitating adherence to strict safety standards and personal protective equipment usage, including helmets, gloves, and protective glasses
Compensation and Benefits:
Hourly Pay: $16-27 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
Benefits: MKS offers a benefits package for interns/co-ops working at least 20 hours per week, including 11 paid holidays, sick time, and 15 paid vacation days accrued on a biweekly basis.
