  • Build and enhance components in our CMS and component management system.
  • Develop and improve internal tools for managing incoming requests from marketing and other business stakeholders.
  • Implement and optimize REST APIs to support website features and integrations.
  • Contribute to SEO-oriented backend solutions that drive traffic and conversion.
  • Proactively identify, propose, and implement technical improvements to increase performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Participate in code reviews, ensuring high code quality, consistency, and adherence to best practices.

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 5+ years of production web development experience.
  • Strong experience with PHP and Laravel (experience with YII2 or Symfony is a plus).
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs, OOP, SQL, and Git.
  • Proven experience working on SEO-oriented web projects.
  • Ability to architect web applications and tools independently, from concept to deployment.
  • Experience developing admin panels or content management systems.
  • Hands-on participation in collaborative code review processes.
  • User experience with advanced AI coding assistants (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, Codex).
  • Full professional proficiency in English (written and spoken).

Standout Qualities:

  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React, Vue), HTTP requests, and TypeScript.
  • Background in performance optimization for high-traffic websites.
  • Practical application of engineering principles such as KISS, DRY, and SOLID in day-to-day work.
  • General understanding of Continuous Integration (CI) processes and pipelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • A team player who contributes to a fun, supportive, and productive team environment.

Team Dynamics:

You will join the Web Team, which is part of Wrike’s Business Development department. The team is organized into two Scrum teams composed of frontend engineers, backend engineers, QA, and designers. You will be a backend developer within one of these cross-functional squads, collaborating closely with marketing, customer-facing, HR, and other internal teams that rely on our websites, web tools, and admin panels. You’ll work in an environment that values openness, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Our Work Style:

  • Methodologies: Scrum, with clear goals set via OKRs.
  • Backend: PHP 8.4, Laravel.
  • Frontend/CMS: Twill CMS + Vue.js.
  • Infrastructure: MySQL, Nginx.
  • Additional Services: Several microservices and standalone projects using Node.js.

We combine a modern PHP/Laravel stack with a component-based CMS and a strong focus on SEO, performance, and marketing enablement. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact, customer-facing web properties at scale, while also building internal tools that directly empower business teams—giving you a broad scope of influence compared to many traditional backend roles.
