Job Description

The role of the Wealth Specialist (WS) is to activate and increase the number of
investment planners in the market, secure more business inflows and increase net
client cash flow from these planners. The focus areas for the Wealth Specialist
position will be to partner and empower the tied financial planners to market (sell)
Old Mutual‘s Investment products /platforms to clients.

Responsibilities

Investment Management | INVESTMENT BANKING | INVESTMENT BANKING

Manage a range of investment portfolios through in-depth market and sector analysis while maintaining a wide range of external relationships. Participate in the formulation and evolution of general investment policy.

Insights and Reporting | ANALYTICS AND DATA SCIENCE | GENERAL

Contribute to the design and creation of reporting strategies and templates. Lead execution of complex reports, identifying and interpreting complex patterns and trends, and translating those insights into actionable recommendations.

Organizational Risk Management | FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING | RISK MANAGEMENT

Develop and/or deliver a contingency plan for significant aspects of the risk management and/or risk control processes.

Sell Customer Propositions | SALES | GENERAL

Configure a complex product-and-services solution and associated contractual terms that meet the customer's mid to long-term needs, taking input from relevant internal specialists. Present the solution to customer representatives and negotiate agreement within a predefined range of commercial parameters, or, alternately, review sales proposals from team members and authorize those that deviate from standard terms, escalating issues to senior management where appropriate.

Recommend changes to policies, processes, standards, and practices that would improve operational support.

Improvement/Innovation | GENERAL | INNOVATION

Identify shortcomings in existing business practices, then suggest and implement improvements while developing and delivering projects or a work stream within the organization's change management program. Involves working with guidance from senior colleagues.

Internal Client Relationship Management | GENERAL | COMMUNICATION/RELATIONSHIPS

Manage relationships with internal clients and act as a business partner to them, building high levels of professional credibility and mutual trust, and managing the deployment of appropriate internal and/or external resources to support in delivering business strategy and plans.

Develop and/or deliver a plan for significant aspects of the financial management and/or control process.

Use data from a wide range of sources to analyze key themes and identify possible impacts on the business.

Needs Assessment | GENERAL | ADVICE

Uncover emerging issues or needs, identifying potential causes, barriers, and key stakeholders, as well as related issues.

Data Management | INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY/DIGITAL | DATA MANAGEMENT

Manage basic aspects of the data management system with guidance from senior colleagues. This includes being responsible for developing or operating basic elements of the data management systems to deliver prescribed outcomes.

Financial Products Development | BRANCH FINANCIAL SERVICES/BANKING | GENERAL

Define, deliver, and adapt specialized financial products that meet customer needs by selecting the best possible approaches available within established systems.

Product and Solution Development | PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT | PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

Define and deliver products and services that meet customer needs by selecting the best possible approaches available within established systems.

Product Positioning | PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT | PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

Guide the strategic implementation focusing on effective product positioning across various products or services.

Business Planning | STRATEGIC OR CORPORATE PLANNING | STRATEGY AND POLICY DEVELOPMENT

Develop and propose annual business plans for a given area or department, ensuring alignment with strategy. Recommend financial and headcount budgets; propose business targets, for example, revenues or other key performance indicators (KPIs); and schedule key activities/ projects, ensuring integration with other elements of the organization.

Business Development | SALES | GENERAL

Monitor and assess sales and market data for a specific geographic region and produce reports that will assist management in formulating strategy and identifying areas in the market where business can be developed.

Marketing Execution | MARKETING | GENERAL

Oversee a particular area, product, or service within the larger marketing strategy. Involves managing development or delivery (or both).

Service-Related Upselling and Cross-selling | SALES | GENERAL

Look for ways in which additional products/services can grow the value of the customer's account within the organization. This role will often have a sales quota to fulfill.

Sales Opportunities Creation | SALES | GENERAL

Develop a personal network within the sales territory and represent the organization at trade shows and other events to identify sales opportunities, promote the organization, and enhance its reputation.

Value Proposition Development | PRODUCT MANAGEMENT | PRODUCT MANAGEMENT

Guide a complex business segment in optimizing the development of a product or service’s value proposition.

Financial Advice | BRANCH FINANCIAL SERVICES/BANKING | GENERAL

Implement the strategy for providing financial advice within an area of limited complexity, taking its distinctive client demographics and needs into account.
