Location & Schedule
The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.
In this position you can expect to work on site at least 3 days per week at our Airport Office Building at Denver International Airport (8500 Pena Boulevard, Denver, CO 80249).

Denver International Airport’s Planning & Design Team is seeking a Wayfinding Project Manager to support the airport’s comprehensive signage and wayfinding program. This candidate should be versatile and work well within the DEN design team as well as with other key DEN stakeholders. This role will support the Wayfinding Program Manager on key initiatives, help develop signage solutions and find creative ways to solve and design for signage challenges while DEN continues to change and grow. The Wayfinding Team is responsible for all public-facing signage at DEN including roadway signage.
Specifically, as the Wayfinding and Signage Project Manager, you will:
Manage wayfinding intake/requests from various DEN and airline stakeholders.
Manage the day-to-day execution of multiple wayfinding and signage projects from concept through installation.
Assist the Wayfinding Program Manager and team in managing signage projects and stakeholder needs.
Identify effective solutions to complex signage challenges.
Create signage plans, work order/task order documents and assist in planning and understanding of installation needs.
Design and develop signage layouts in‑house signage graphics and artwork.
Uphold signage standards and DEN’s wayfinding guidelines on all projects.
Coordinate with DEN divisions, airline partners, and external consultants to define project scope and scheduling.
Partner with DEN Graphics shop to fabricate and install in-house signage.
Perform shop drawing and quality assurance reviews of wayfinding deliverables.
Support the maintenance and evolution of DEN’s Wayfinding Standards and SignAgent database.
What You’ll Bring
Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:
Three or more years of experience in managing wayfinding or environmental graphic projects (bonus if in aviation, transportation, or large-scale environments).
Strong design background with a portfolio demonstrating ability to create within established standards; solid understanding of graphic standards, design documentation, fabrication methods and installation requirements.
Proficiency with tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Illustrator); SignAgent a plus.
Experience supporting both design and production of signage, with familiarity in fabrication, materials, and installation processes a plus.
Excellent collaborator and communicator, able to work across teams (planning, design, stakeholders, vendors) and incorporate diverse feedback.
Highly organized, detail-oriented problem solver with the ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to a dynamic, campus-wide environment.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Education requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture or a related field.
Experience Requirement: One (1) year of experience coordinating projects which includes tracking project status, budget, invoicing, etc. OR one (1) year of experience inspecting civil or structural engineering projects which includes ensuring projects are in compliance.
Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education for all classifications. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
License/Certifications: This job requires driving. Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.

Snow/Emergency Duties: Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If weather conditions warrant or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees can be required to work extended hours and/or shifts.
