As a Water and Wastewater Utilities Engineer with Reedy Creek Energy Services, you will work independently across multiple projects involving potable water, wastewater, reclaimed water, and solid waste systems, including pipelines, lift stations, pump stations, storage facilities, and treatment facility upgrades and improvements.
This role supports utility systems throughout the Central Florida Oversight Tourism District at Walt Disney World Resort.
The Water and Wastewater Utilities Engineer reports directly to the Sustaining Engineering Team Lead.
Maintain the reliability and regulatory compliance of potable water, wastewater, reclaimed water, and solid waste infrastructure.
Perform technical analyses, modeling, and studies to assess system performance, capacity, and risk.
Lead Root Cause Analysis for system failures and recurring issues.
Create engineering‑supported corrective maintenance procedures.
Develop engineering standards, specifications, and preventative maintenance strategies.
Implement asset management strategies, including lifecycle analysis and prioritization.
Recommend data-driven improvements based on physical condition, performance, capacity, up-time reliability, operations and maintenance issues, obsolescence, consequence of failure, and redundancy.
Prepare requests for proposals and provide technical direction to engineering consultants in the development of reports, plans, specifications, and construction documents.
Support commissioning activities to verify equipment performance and compliance with standards.
Apply strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to resolve complex technical issues.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Florida, or PE licensure in another state with the ability to obtain Florida registration within six months.
5+ years of experience in municipal engineering, consulting, or a related field.
Ability to interpret engineering plans, specifications, and schematics.
Ability to work in various work environments, including outdoor field locations.
Ability to work extended hours to support system emergencies and adverse weather events.
7+ years of experience in municipal engineering, consulting, or a related field.
Knowledge of standards and codes applicable to municipal utility systems.
Experience in operations, standards development, or plan review.
Bachelor’s degree in civil, Environmental, or a related engineering field from an ABET‑accredited institution (required).
Master's degree in a related field (preferred).
