Job Summary:

Are you looking for a fantastic career at Aqua? We have a great opportunity for a Wastewater Treatment Plant Supervisor reporting to the Operations Manager. The WW treatment plant supervisor is responsible for the efficient, compliant and economical operation of the wastewater treatment facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Responsible for compliance with all federal, state and local regulations pertaining to the wastewater treatment plants.
  • Provides capital and operational budget planning and implementation for the wastewater facilities.
  • Schedules personnel and assigns tasks and duties
  • Establishes and Implements procedures for process control operations and facility SOP's
  • Provides training and supervision to Wastewater Plant Department employees
  • Champions the quality process
  • Has primary responsibility for and submits all regulatory reports including: MRO’s, DMR’s, RDC’s, Turbidity reports and all other applicable reports.
  • Participates in and makes presentations during Departmental meetings.
  • Ensures compliance with the Chemical Hygiene Plan
  • Attends laboratory, quality control and process related seminars and meetings. Investigates plant upsets and determines corrective action.
  • Provides direct or indirect support to other departments including Customer Service, Wastewater Collection and administrative staff.
  • Assists with other tasks or projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have at least ten (10) years’ experience operating in a wastewater treatment facility or other applicable experience.
  • Must have significant experience in a wastewater operations and laboratory procedures.
  • Must have possession of a Class 3 Wastewater Operator’s License from the State of Indiana. (Class 4 Wastewater Operator’s License preferred)
  • Must have knowledge of NPDES limits for wastewater quality and wastewater treatment facility regulations.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of laboratory regulations and quality control procedures.
  • A college degree in an environmentally related field is preferred.
  • A valid Indiana driver’s license is a requirement.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Working conditions include travel to work sites of Essential Utilities and/or other constituents
  • May be subject to extreme temperatures, noise, wet and/or humid conditions, mechanical, electrical, gas exposure hazards, fumes, dusts, mists, gases and/or poor ventilation atmospheric conditions
  • Frequently required to maneuver and navigate uneven surfaces, steps, stairs, ladders, platforms, and restricted isle-ways and walk-ways;
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
