The Waste Management Contracts Manager will be working from customer locations, large manufacturing sites, based on both sides of the River Clyde. In addition providing support to a research site west of Glasgow. The main responsibility involves managing the on site waste management contracts whilst building an on-site Total Waste Management team focused on control and management of waste compounds at each location. In addition leading innovation and sustainability initiatives for these sites and one other based in North West England.

What will you be doing?

The Waste Management Contracts Manager position serves as a key point of contact for the TWM contract regarding sustainability and recycling targets, providing data for standard reporting tools and undertaking carbon footprint monitoring across all four sites. Working closely with the Centre of Excellence, the position focuses on driving continuous improvements through recycling increases, carbon footprint reduction initiatives, innovations that move waste streams up the waste hierarchy, cost reduction, and proactively delivering exemplary service to help achieve the customers sustainability targets.
 

  • Coordinate internal/external suppliers and support services across Total Waste Management contracts to ensure best-in-class delivery and implement improvement plans.

  • Develop sustainability initiatives including Greenpath, Action Plans, and carbon footprinting while managing quarterly reporting deadlines.

  • Work with IT to standardise data formats and Power BI reports for customer hub utilisation and contract justification.

  • Present updates at monthly client reviews and serve as primary contact for sustainability and recycling inquiries.

  • Build customer relationships to expand contract scope, drive renewals, and identify new service opportunities with Business Development.

  • Lead continuous improvement through KPI tracking, problem-solving, and collaboration with regional teams and local environmental groups.

What are we looking for?

  • Degree or equivalent in science or environmental based subject.

  • Ability to manage projects and assist with larger projects concerning sustainability and reduction of carbon footprint.

  • Full driving license.

  • Hold suitable clearance (SC/DV).

  • Willingness to learn and lead on sustainability.
