What this role is all about:

We are looking for a Warehouse Supervisor in La Crosse, WI.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 1st Shift

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for managing and coordinating the daily operations of the plant warehouse with the goal of shipping, receiving and transferring product in an efficient and economical manner. The Warehouse Supervisor develops, promotes, and maintains a safe warehouse environment and a workforce capable of meeting warehouse requirements in accordance with customer needs and overall goals of the organization.  The Warehouse Supervisor also builds and maintains good business relationships with local third-party warehouses.

Job Duties:

  • Oversee and directly supervise the daily operations of warehouse activities including shipping & receiving, warehouse transfers, and distribution.
  • Ensure internal and external product shipments are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with purchasing and production planning to manage warehouse space effectively with changing demand in production.
  • Coordinate transfers between Select Custom Solutions warehouse locations and local third-party warehouses. 
  • Work with Production Supervisors to ensure employees are working efficiently and productively with the Dockworkers. 
  • Communicate effectively with transportation, customer service and other employees to assure timely work flow resulting in positive customer experience.
  • Work with other departments to ensure good communication and to manage the quality-related requirements within the shipping/receiving process. 
  • Responsible for food safety and quality.
  • Oversee and ensure GMPs followed and overall cleanliness of the warehouse maintained.
  • Ensure staffing is appropriate in each area for optimal and efficient receipt, shipment, and transfer of products.
  • Certify and train forklift drivers in accordance with OSHA requirements.
  • Possess Basic DOT compliance knowledge.
  • Oversee/track receipts of finished goods into inventory for production.
  • Coordinate daily shuttles of finished goods and raw/pack materials to and from third party warehouses.
  • Coordinate forklift maintenance program, track inspections, and manage emergency repair contract and emergency calls.
  • Approve schedule and timecards. Provide back up for Warehouse Manager, if applicable by location.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for employee relations including work direction of employees, hiring, training, performance reviews, administering policies and procedures, disciplinary action, and compensation recommendations.
  • Direct implementation of departmental objectives, goals and policies.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Act as back-up for Shipping and Receiving Clerks as needed.
  • Contact with Production Supervisors as well as Quality, Production Planning and Purchasing departments.
  • Ensure that policies and procedures are being followed.
  • Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and Safety Protocol.
  • Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
  • Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
  • Support safety policies and programs.

Qualifications:

Education Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Operations, Logistics, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum four (4) years of experience in a distribution or shipping & receiving environment required.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
