The Warehouse Supervisor oversees day‑to‑day warehouse operations, ensuring compliant, safe, and efficient receipt, storage, inventory control, pick & pack, and outbound operation. The role drives service, cost, quality, and compliance performance through strong logistics service provider (LSP) governance, KPI management, and continuous improvement, while partnering closely with internal stakeholders to meet aligned SQSCP targets and regulatory requirements.

Typical Accountabilities

  • Oversee all warehouse operations, including but not limited to receiving, storage, picking/packing, loading/unloading, and inventory counting, etc; develop and maintain a comprehensive SOP/WI documentation system.

  • Ensure operations comply with AZ SHE, Quality, and Compliance policies, as well as applicable GxP, SOX, and other external laws and regulations.

  • Continuously monitor and improve quality performance under AZ QMS & China GSP system in collaboration with different AZ Quality teams. Own quality activities including change initiation/evaluation, deviations and complaints, audit coordination, CAPA tracking, equipment/facility validation, and QCM gap analysis, etc.

  • As warehouse operations IT System Owner & Business Process Owner, define and manage process document (WI & forms), trouble shooting, user role/access control, change request, IT compliance & assessment, continuous improvement.

  • According to AZ QMS and Work closely with the logistics service provider (LSP) to ensure stable and compliant operation of warehouse facilities and equipment, including but not limited to temperature/humidity control, pest management, and periodic qualification/validation of environmental monitoring probes, racking, cold rooms, and passive packages.

  • Monitor and manage storage budget and spending. Maintain financial control of the process and organization.

  • Manage the Logistics Service Provider (LSP) and related personnel, ensuring adherence to AZ self-operated and entrusted warehouse management requirements.

  • Lead regular business review meeting; closely monitor and supervise the LSP’s operational performance & KPIs.

  • Ensure proper workforce planning, shift adherence, and resource allocation by the LSP to meet volume and seasonality. Provide effective training and coaching to the LSP.

  • Manage warehouse operational safety performance in accordance with the AZ SHE management system and applicable regulations, including but not limited to documentation (procedures, risk assessments, environmental aspect evaluations), security management, SHE audits, incident investigations, and SHE Kaizens.

  • Provide necessary safety and sustainability training and coaching to the logistics service provider (LSP), enhancing safety awareness among third party personnel.

  • Champion and implement AZ sustainability strategies and related actions, continuously advancing sustainable operations across the LSP.

  • Adopt and promote Lean methodologies to continuously drive standardization and simplification of warehousing processes, and advance innovation, including but not limited to new warehousing technologies, digitalization, automation, and new business models.

  • Collaborate with the logistics service provider (LSP) and AZ internal & external stakeholders to lead and participate in continuous improvement projects in order to reduce cost, increase efficiency, and enhance quality and safety.

  • Other tasks assigned by line manager.

Education, Qualifications, Experience and Capabilities

  • University degree or above

  • At least 3 ~ 5 years’ experience in logistics & warehousing area

  • Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred

  • People management experience preferred

  • Pharmaceutical industry & GxP regulations awareness

  • Warehouse & logistics business know-how

  • Financial and supply chain awareness

  • Familiar with SAP & WMS

  • Lean methodology know-how and practice

  • 3rd party logistics management

  • Good command of English in written and oral

  • Good communication and interpersonal skill  

  • People management & leadership skill
