This role is part of Alcon's Supply Chain function, a team that manages logistics, inventory management, and supply chain analytics for Alcon's industry leading products to ensure products are delivered efficiently and effectively so that people can see brilliantly. The Operator II, Warehouse & Distribution Operations is primarily responsible for handling complex tasks to ensure efficient warehouse and distribution processes. You will optimize storage, manage material flows, and ensure safety at our Manufacturing Facility in Houston, TX. Specifics Include:
 

  • Handle complex manual or operational tasks to ensure smooth processes
    Optimize storage space and material flows

  • Coordinate and execute inbound and outbound logistics activities, including coordination with warehouses and other relevant parties

  • Operate equipment, making minor decisions as needed

  • Enhance technical skills and problem-solving abilities

  • Adhere to GxP regulations by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training

  • Support business performance through accurate task completion and commit to continuous improvement and regulatory compliance

  • All associates must adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training.

  • Associates are responsible for meeting their individual job requirements and contributing to the overall compliance of the organization.

  • Compliance with regulatory requirements and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential to our operations​.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English

  • Work Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00AM - 3:30PM

  • Location: Onsite

  • Travel Requirements: 0 – 10%

  • Relocation Assistance: None

  • Sponsorship Available: No

Preferred:

  • Prior warehouse experience

  • Forklift (PIT) certified or ability to be certified

  • Excellent attention to detail as this is imperative to the receiving process

  • Able to lift 20-30lbs frequently, long periods of standing.

  • Comfortable with heights (15-20 feet)

  • Previous experience in navigating within SAP or similar WMS systems
