Warehouse Operations Manager - JLL
What this job involves: As a Warehouse Operations Manager at JLL, you'll lead the strategic direction and daily execution of warehouse operations for a key client facility. This role places you at the center of supply chain excellence, where you'll oversee inventory management, fulfillment processes, team performance, and operational efficiency. You'll be responsible for ensuring seamless coordination between receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping functions while maintaining the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and productivity. You'll manage warehouse staff, implement best practices, optimize workflows, and serve as the primary point of contact for client communications regarding facility performance. What your day-to-day will look like:
Oversee all warehouse operations including receiving, inventory control, order fulfillment, shipping, and returns processing to ensure accuracy and efficiency
Lead, coach, and develop a team of warehouse supervisors and associates, conducting performance reviews and providing ongoing training and development opportunities
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, on-time shipment rates, inventory accuracy, and productivity metrics, implementing corrective actions as needed
Collaborate with clients to understand operational requirements, communicate performance results, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
Manage warehouse budget, labor scheduling, and resource allocation to optimize costs while maintaining service level agreements
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and client-specific requirements, conducting regular audits and safety training sessions
Implement and refine standard operating procedures, leveraging warehouse management systems and technology to streamline processes
Coordinate with transportation providers, procurement teams, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth material flow and resolve operational issues
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality
Required qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
5+ years of progressive warehouse or distribution center management experience, preferably in a third-party logistics (3PL) or facilities management environment
Proven track record of leading teams of 20+ employees and managing complex, high-volume warehouse operations
Strong knowledge of SAP CMMS, inventory control principles, and distribution best practices
Familiarity with Life Sciences and GxP/GMP regulations
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting
Preferred qualifications:
Professional certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), or Six Sigma Green Belt
Familiarity with automation technologies, robotics, or advanced material handling equipment
Experience implementing warehouse management systems or leading technology transformation projects
