Position Overview

The Warehouse Operations and Leadership Intern will support and learn from the warehouse leadership team within a high‑volume manufacturing facility. This internship provides hands‑on experience in supervising daily warehouse operations, coordinating material flow, and ensuring safety and efficiency. The intern will gain exposure to leadership responsibilities, inventory processes, and cross‑department collaboration while contributing to smooth and effective warehouse performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily supervision of warehouse staff, including assigning tasks, monitoring workflow, and supporting productivity.
  • Learn and apply warehouse safety standards, ensuring compliance with PPE requirements, equipment procedures, and company policies.
  • Support inventory control activities, including cycle counts, stock rotation, labeling, and documentation.
  • Help coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, verifying accuracy of orders, packaging, and material staging.
  • Monitor material movement between production, storage, and shipping areas to maintain efficient flow.
  • Participate in training sessions related to forklift operation, warehouse systems, and manufacturing processes (as permitted by company policy).
  • Assist with problem‑solving and process improvements, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency or reduce waste.
  • Communicate with production teams, logistics, and supervisors to ensure alignment on priorities and timelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of warehouse activities, including inventory updates, shipping logs, and safety checklists.
  • Model professionalism and teamwork, contributing to a respectful and collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a program related to supply chain, logistics, business, industrial technology, or manufacturing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, physical environment.
  • Interest in leadership, operations, or manufacturing management.
  • Basic computer skills; familiarity with inventory or ERP systems is a plus.
  • Willingness to learn, ask questions, and take initiative.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing warehouse setting with exposure to forklifts, pallet jacks, and industrial equipment.
  • Requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to company‑specified limits.
  • May involve varying temperatures depending on time of the year.
