We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager to be based at our Welshpool Service Centre, with primary responsibility for managing day-to-day warehouse operations at this site. In addition, the role holds a dotted-line responsibility for warehouses in Brisbane and Mackay, providing regional oversight and driving consistency, efficiency and best practice across the warehouse function.
This role plays a key part in reviewing and improving the overall warehouse operation within the region by leveraging technology, improved processes and industry best practices. Working closely with the Service Centre Manager and operations stakeholders, you will identify opportunities to improve productivity, service levels and compliance while maintaining a strong safety culture.
Plan, organise and control warehouse operations to meet business requirements, ensuring timely and accurate receiving, storage and distribution of products
Analyse operational data to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities
Manage inventory accuracy through cycle counts, stock rotation and data integrity controls
Manage and optimise domestic and international dispatch, including carrier coordination, documentation and customs compliance
Ensure full compliance with Dangerous Goods (DG) regulations
Conduct regular cycle counts and stock audits
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity, reduce costs, minimise waste and improve service levels
Manage warehouse budgets, resource planning and capital equipment requirements, with a strong focus on cost control and efficiency gains
Implement and optimise Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other logistics technologies
Provide regional input and oversight to support warehouse standardisation and performance across Brisbane and Mackay
Knowledge, skills & experience
Proven experience in a similar warehouse or logistics management role, with a strong track record in optimising warehousing operations and delivering results
Strong leadership and people management capability
Solid knowledge of inventory management systems and warehouse processes
Excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong understanding of safety, compliance and regulatory requirements, particularly Dangerous Goods and Chain of Responsibility
Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Business Management or a relevant trade qualification
High financial literacy and commercial acumen, including experience managing budgets and operational costs
Demonstrated experience applying continuous improvement and agile methodologies
Strong coaching and mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire and develop teams
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple sites and stakeholder groups
Proven experience implementing risk management processes and controls
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant warehouse/logistics systems
Strong time management, prioritisation and housekeeping standards
