The warehouse distribution manager is responsible for all distribution, inventory management, and customer support activities that support the daily lifecycle operations business. Key responsibilities include employee management and engagement, safety, cost control, inventory accuracy, productivity management, quality, workload planning, customer service, facilities management, and proper utilization of space, equipment, and manpower. The ideal candidate will possess an in-depth understanding of LEAN principles & quality management techniques, which will be implemented to transform into a world-class distribution network operation.

YOUR IMPACT:

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned: 

  • Direct and monitor daily distribution center activities to ensure delivery, quality, productivity, safety, and “People First” objectives are met.

  • Monitor and maintain distribution associate productivity performance and development by coaching, counseling, motivating, and encouraging professional growth. Manage team interviewing, onboarding, performance reviews, and performance issues as required.

  • Lead all continuous improvement programs and initiatives including 5S, PDCA, Kaizen, etc. Implement new solutions in storage density, use of material handling equipment, quality, and productivity standards.

  • Collaborate with internal (Logistics, Planning, Service, etc.) and external (small package carriers, heavy freight contractors, etc.) resources to develop an efficient distribution center value stream.

  • Develop and deploy key performance indicators (KPIs) for fill rates, cost, productivity, quality, and safety to create visibility of overall network and individual distribution center performance for frequent presentation to upper management and key internal stakeholders.

  • Work with planning team to determine optimal flow of materials through distribution network designed to minimize cost and maximize customer service.

  • Attend daily meetings and interact with associates and senior management to ensure shift objectives are being met.

  • Communicate effectively to employees their responsibility for safety, following safety rules, and reporting unsafe working conditions to their supervisor. Work with Human Resources to investigate accidents & implement permanent, corrective actions.

  • Participate in annual budget processes (operational & capital) to assure all expenses are accounted for & justified. Link capital expenditures to continuous improvement projects.

  • Achieve financial objectives by managing an operating & expenses budget along with associated staffing levels & productivity.

  • Develop solutions through analytical processes

  • Effectively manage ERP operations and upgrades

  • Translate overall strategic business objectives into specific department action plans & initiatives. Manage & track progress of improvement plans to present status to upper management on a regular basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business (Operations Management, Logistics) or related field.

  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

  • 5+ years of direct or related experience managing a distribution network or logistics center.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Working knowledge of JD Edwards OneWorld (Oracle ERP).

  • Experience leading overall distribution in a multi-site format.

  • Experience Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate remote employees.

  • Experience leading warehouse flow assessments, implementations, and improvements.

  • Working knowledge of all aspects of distribution centers and distribution management, including safety and OSHA regulations.

  • Solid understanding & use of Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Access.

  • Six Sigma/LEAN experience, preferably in a distribution/warehouse/logistics center environment. Experience implementing LEAN a plus.

  • Analytical skills to include problem identification and resolution.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • This role is primarily performed in a professional office environment with standard lighting, ventilation, and temperature-controlled settings. 

  • Duties are largely sedentary, requiring extended periods of sitting and using a computer and telephone. 

  • Visual acuity to operate a computer and read documents is required, along with auditory ability to participate in virtual and in-person meetings. 

  • Occasional movement within the office environment is necessary, including walking short distances, standing, or reaching for files.

Pay Range:

$91,800.00 - $153,200.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
