Job Summary

Position responsible for the overall cleaning of assigned patient rooms and non-patient areas throughout the hospital.
Shift Schedule: Sunday-Thursday, 3pm-11:30

Job Description

Main Responsibilities: The CSC Cleaning Tech will support in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized facility by performing tasks like sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, dusting, cleaning restrooms, and organizing storage areas, often involving physical work, adherence to safety rules, and operating basic cleaning equipment, reporting maintenance needs, and ensuring supplies are stocked for efficiency and compliance. 

Shift: Sunday thru Thursday, 3:00pm - 11:30am

Desired Skills:

• Previous cleaning or warehouse experience preferred
• Experience with material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, reach truck)
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently .
• Able to stand, walk, bend, and lift (up to 25 lbs)

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

• Ability to perform duties following brief oral or written instruction and the ability to read and write.

• Ability to lift 30 pounds.

 Principal Accountabilities

• Cleans patient rooms daily and/or at checkout; washes beds and performs bed making duties as assigned.

• Collects soiled linen; dusts and/or mops floors; washes walls; cleans bathroom fixtures; collects bio- hazardous trash; and performs high dusting, using various cleaning chemicals; and disinfectants as required; cleans and maintains equipment; maintains daily report of rooms cleaned and submits to department supervisor.

• Vacuums/cleans patient care areas, public areas and offices as assigned.

• Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors, adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity of service.

• Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
