About the Team

Wafer Packaging Manufacturing (WPM) is a worldwide factory network specializing in the processing and testing of product as we make interconnects and transform wafers into die. WPM organization is part of APTM (Advanced Packaging Technology and Manufacturing) within Intel Foundry. The organization includes the process segments and factories for: FBE/C4 (RDLs/Passivation/Bumping), Wafer Level Assembly (WLA), Hybrid Bond Interconnect (HBI), Die Prep, Die Sort, E-Test, and Wafer Sort. The team processes both traditional and advanced packaging products and are responsible for high volume manufacturing with high quality of Intel Products and Foundry Services products. WPM works with upstream factories (TFSM and External companies) and downstream factories (ATM and External OSATs) within the overall supply chain as well as many other Intel organizations. About the Role
The WPM US/Europe Wafer Sort and Die Sort Factory Manager will lead the Sort factories in the US and Europe regions. The Sort teams in these regions will report to this factory manager. Currently, these operations are in Oregon, New Mexico, Ireland, and Israel. The role reports directly to the WPM General Manager and be a member of WPM Staff.

Responsible for E-Test, Wafer Sort, and Die Sort for both internal and external wafers in the Europe and US regions. Including:

  • Work closely with peer WPM Factory Managers for Chengdu Die Prep/Die Sort and Kulim Die Prep/Die Sort given the common Die Sort tools, process, and wafer commits.
  • Maintain a regular onsite presence when managing employees whose responsibilities necessitate onsite work to support operational needs.
  • Manage and lead a team of managers, module engineers, and technicians. Set priorities and strategy for this Sort team. Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, output, and cost across Sort factories in WPM. Drive improvement activities with both internal and external stakeholders to meet quality and output targets.
  • Meet safety and environmental compliance for tools and processes in scope.
  • Meet quality goals for these factories.
  • Own output commits for these factories in conjunction with the WPM Production team.
  • Ensure continuous improvement programs are in place to prevent quality, line yield, and sort yield excursions. Lead continuous improvement of the process in a manner consistent with overall organization goals. Develop long-term strategies for module capabilities to support future requirements.
  • Lead technical problem-solving: Collaborate with cross-functional team leaders to develop and implement systems and processes that ensure troubleshooting efforts to permanently and systemically resolve complex process and tool issues.
  • Resolve quality, capacity, and capability problems. Implement root cause solutions to problems. Drive lower cost and develop methods to improve efficiency.
  • Use the global WPM network for driving the solutions and improvements.
  • Manager transfer processes, qualifying and certifying factories. Post certification, the Sort Manager will be expected to maintain process synchronization, coordinate insertion of new processes and drive improvement projects across all Sort floors.
  • Enable teams to execute through clear goal setting, facilitating work, maintaining accountability, applying differentiated performance management, and driving team results. Drives results by inspiring people, role modeling Intel values, developing the capabilities of others, and ensuring a productive work environment.

As a senior leader, you will be expected to set priorities for the Sort teams, work effectively across organizational boundaries, develop employees, and manage performance. You will be responsible for ensuring a safe, inclusive work environment while meeting your organization and factory commitments.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in the semiconductor industry
  • 5+ years as first or second level management
  • A detailed understanding of problem-solving tools as well as factory process control systems and methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of semiconductor wafer/die tool and process technology.


Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in wafer and/or die testing (E-Test, Sort, Class) tools and process and sort product engineering
  • Experience with process and product transfers and volume ramps
  • Management of equipment sustaining technicians in a production environment, either directly or at a second level
  • Experience with making organizational transformations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Physics/Chemistry/Material Science related field or equivalent
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in the semiconductor industry

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $222,820.00-314,570.00 USD
