The WAE Intern will assist the full-time strength and conditioning staff in training Football.
Responsibilities will include: Setup and breakdown of the equipment needed for the specific training sessions each day, assist in the cleaning and upkeep of the facilities, general book keeping task including weight room attendance, running times and test results; Assist strength staff member in spotting and reinforcing proper lifting mechanics to ensure a safe training environment with the teams; Fulfill part of the WAE internship program continuing education and personal development; Work closely with the coaching and medical staff to insure an organized, safe, positive working environment that will insure continued success both inside and outside the competitive arena.
WAE Interns may only work up to 29 hrs. per week.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree an accredited university; CPR/AED certified and working toward strength and conditioning certification. No prior coaching experience is necessary but minimal exposure to a collegiate, professional or commercial strength and conditioning program is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
B.S. degree in a sports related program, 1 year of coaching experience in strength and conditioning related field, and be CSCS & CSCCa certified.
Special or Physical Qualifications:
Ability to work extended days and weekends and lift at least 150 lbs. Due to nature of position, pre-employment physical is required.
