What You’ll Do:

The VP, Underwriting/Credit Risk &Processing Manager is responsible for Underwriting and processing departments and Risk Oversight.  Maintains all credit related Policies, Procedures, required training, feedback to staff, managers and sales team. Works closely with the Sales and Operations Manager for underwriting related support, credit quality control initiatives and workflow. Responsible for Collateral Risk, Fraud Credit Risk processes and oversight, including technology and process support for underwriting and processing. Hires, mentors and manages Underwriters and Loan Processors, when volume increases and capacity warrants. Assists with Mortgage QC and Quality Monitoring.

What Do You Need?

  • 10+ years Mortgage Industry and Financial Operations Leadership and oversight.
  • 10+ years Mortgage Credit Underwriting/Financial Leadership with a proven track record of success, measured against clear, defined goals and objectives. 
  • Core Accountabilities include: Maintains policies and procedural updates for all operations and Credit Risk processes and requirements.
  • Oversees underwriting and processing and all credit risk related activities and requirements. 
  • Responsible for all regulatory and investor guidelines, assist with product development and maintenance.  Works closely with Team Members, fellow Management and Lines of Businesses to produce quality, efficiency, adherence and superior customer service.
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment, including managing or supporting multiple teams and lines of businesses.
  • Must have Mortgage "end-to-end" experience, including originations, processing, underwriting, closing, sales support, compliance and oversight. 
  • Ability to reach and maintain goals and objectives, including managing large unit/dollar volume teams, in multiple locations and States.
  • Proficient and highly skilled in all areas of Residential Mortgage Underwriting, Credit/Collateral Risk for Agency, Portfolio, VA, FHA, Jumbo Non-QM, Super Jumbo Non-QM and Investor Compliance and Regulatory requirements. 

Technology Skills:

  • Ability to work with the Microsoft Suite and learn/work with other Customers Bank’s applications.
  • LOS, Loan Operating Systems, POS - Point of Sale Systems: Familiar with all mortgage process requirements, whether manual or technology driven for retail business.
  • Ability to assist in with enhancing work-flow processes to ensure a high level of customer service, both internal and external.
