Job Description Summary
The VP, Tax Manager will be an integral member of the corporate income tax team and will lead key areas of the corporate tax function, with an emphasis on federal tax compliance and reporting. This position reports directly to the Tax Director and will have visibility with executive leadership, Finance, and external advisors.
What You’ll Do
Lead preparation and review of the federal income tax return, including workpaper documentation
Support ASC 740 provision calculations and tracking of deferred inventory items including the Company’s extensive leasing portfolio
Manage quarterly estimated tax calculations and annual extensions
Ensure compliance with current IRC requirements, legislative updates, and banking-specific regulations
Manage the annual R&D study process and coordinate with external advisors
Partner with Accounting and Finance on tax reporting matters
Assist with federal and state tax audits
Research and prepare write-ups regarding tax law changes, tax impacts of new business lines, tax accounting policies and methods, etc
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CPA and MST preferred
7+ years of experience, banking or Big 4 accounting firm preferred
Advanced user of Excel, and OneSource Tax Software (or related system)
Financial institution and bank holding company exposure is a plus
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships and interact with various business lines and management
Strong analytical and organizational skills, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task

Compensation
The estimated salary range for this role is $125,000-$165,000, along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills and experience.
