Position Overview:

The VP, Social Content & Platform Distribution leads Viral Nation’s social-first content studio — building modern content systems that are fast, scalable, and grounded in platform intelligence. You combine deep expertise in social platforms, brand storytelling, creator collaboration, and performance data to deliver content that moves audiences and business outcomes.

You bring a strong record of leading social programs at scale — from content strategy through production — and you know how to operationalize what works. You can build the right team, tools, and workflows to produce high-volume content efficiently, respond to culture in real time, and continuously optimize performance.

This role is equal parts creative leadership, production thinking, operational excellence, and talent development, driving how brands show up and win on social media.

Responsibilities:

Platform Strategy & Creative Leadership

  • Serve as Viral Nation’s expert on platform behavior, emerging features, and content best practices across all current (i.e. TikTok, Instagram, YouTube) and emerging social channels. 
  • Translate audience and platform insights into actionable content strategy and direction for brand programs.
  • Identify shifts in culture and user behavior to uncover proactive content opportunities.

Content System Design & Production Excellence

  • Build scalable content production models that enable speed, efficiency, volume, and quality across channels.
  • Establish reusable formats, toolkits, and workflows that support daily publishing and rapid iteration.
  • Ensure content is tailored for platform distribution, retention, and engagement.

Real-Time Activation & Cultural Participation

  • Lead the rapid-response function that enables brands to engage authentically in cultural moments and trends.
  • Partner with Community and Strategy teams to operationalize trend intelligence and editorial decision-making.

Creator & Talent Collaboration

  • Partner with Talent division to activate creator-led content and production solutions.
  • Mentor internal creative teams to operate like best-in-class social creators and editors.Manage external talent pools (videographers, editors, specialists) to expand production capability and scale.

AI-Enabled Production Innovation

  • Identify, evaluate, and operationalize emerging AI tools that accelerate content creation, editing, and versioning.
  • Ensure the studio team remains at the forefront of creative technology adoption.

Performance Measurement & Data-Driven Optimization

  • Define success metrics for content performance and tie creative output to business outcomes.
  • Partner with the Business Intelligence team to architect and refine feedback loops and dashboards to improve content efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Use testing, experimentation, and audience insights to drive continuous improvement.

Leadership, People Development & Cross-Agency Partnership

  • Lead a growing team of social creatives, editors, and producers — fostering a culture of speed, experimentation, and accountability.
  • Partner with Accounts, Strategy, and Operations to ensure smooth workflows, delivery, and integration into broader campaigns.
  • Contribute to the agency’s new business efforts and help shape future content products and service offerings.

Position Requirements:

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in social media content strategy and leadership
  • Proven professional track record demonstrating the social prowess that mirrors a top-tier global social media creator (i.e., presence, instinct, velocity, and taste).
  • Expert-level knowledge of all major social platform mechanics (e.g., TikTok, Instagram, YouTube) and the signals (e.g., retention, reposts) that drive content distribution and measurable velocity.
  • Demonstrated ability to architect and implement agile, high-velocity production systems and modular, repeatable content formats for social media output. 
  • Strong capability in data-backed decision-making, translating social platform analytics into actionable creative direction and establishing measurable content KPIs.
  • Expertise in trend intelligence and real-time cultural activation.
  • Experience partnering with creators (influencers, content producers, editors) to scale storytelling  and high-efficiency production.
  • Fluency in integrating and operationalizing cutting-edge AI tools into the content planning, production, and optimization lifecycle.
