Role Summary/Purpose:
The VP, Analytics – Sam’s Club reports to the SVP, Sam’s Club Analytics Leader and leads portfolio diagnostics, forecasting, and investment optimization to accelerate new accounts and profitable purchase volume growth for the Sam’s Club credit program. This leader provides decision support for acquisition investments and partners closely with Marketing on targeting, segmentation, channel strategy, and measurement of acquisition initiatives.
This role partners cross-functionally across Product, Marketing, Credit, and Technology/Operations to deliver insights on customer behavior, campaign performance, product/channel strategy, and forecasting. The VP will serve as a trusted analytics advisor to senior leaders and client partners. This is a hands-on role requiring frequent use of analytical and data-mining tools.

Essential Responsibilities:
Develop and lead program acquisitions strategy: Align with business priorities, develop analytics goals, and be an insights-driven growth strategist for portfolio Senior Leadership like GM & Marketing SVP, as well as external client
Lead program acquisitions learning agenda and partner with acquisitions marketing team. Own the full cycle of analytical deliverables – ideation, data mining and analysis, identification of insights and presenting a business story with recommended actions to the stakeholders
Act as a strategy and analytic consultant for large-scale marketing initiatives, providing guidance and leadership for the design, analysis and measurement phases of the project.
Collaborate with cross functional teams in product, marketing, credit, and IT/operations to provide comprehensive insights into program acquisition tactics
Groom junior analysts on the team and drive delivery of analytics goals. Lead and prioritize workload of offshore analysts to ensure high-quality execution and delivery of analytics, measurement, and reporting projects
Develop a "test and learn" culture and recommend targeting strategies/optimization using advanced analytical tools such as segmentation and other statistical models
Develop and foster relationships with portfolio senior leadership team, GM, and client partners to become the SME, and review portfolio goals performance periodically and present robust business cases for driving growth
Act as a trusted advisor to solve complex business problems and provide actionable recommendations based upon data-driven insights
Implement and automate data visualization tools to measure and diagnose portfolio performance that allow stakeholders to understand trajectory of KPIs to enable better forecasting and management of the portfolio
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or in lieu of Bachelors degree a high school diploma 10+ years of work experience establishing and managing marketing analytics in the financial services, credit card and/or payments industry.
Proven hands-on experience utilizing analytical tools such as SAS, SQL, or open-source tools such as R and Python.
A minimum of 7+ years of work experience to include:
7+ years developing and implementing advanced analytics solutions and decision optimization capabilities to support business decisions
5+ years using statistical analysis tools and data warehouse tools
4+ years of experience managing large-scale analytic projects spanning research, development and implementation
3+ years' experience within the financial services, credit card payments, or retail /Consumer Packaged Goods industry
3+ years leading large-scale analytics projects
3+ years of client facing experience
2+ years of experience managing remotely located teams
Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required
Desired Characteristics
Bachelor's degree in STEM Field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Database Marketing or Quantitative Analysis preferred
Advanced degree in a quantitative field or MBA with Systems and Marketing specialization strongly preferred
Extensive marketing analytics experience, including digital marketing
Strong track record in serving as strategic partner with internal business and client partners leveraging analytics
Ability to develop executable strategies and analytic roadmap, articulate a clear vision, and deliver results
Ability to synthesize/analyze complex and diverse information and to develop and recommend strategies and communicate them clearly
Ability to ideate, design, and lead development of analytic capabilities and solutions
Experience with Co-Brand credit card products preferred
Advanced development of dashboards and data visualization tools such as Tableau
Strong understanding of targeting and segmentation, retail analytic tools and advanced skills using Excel and PowerPoint strongly preferred
Experience using external data sources to drive growth for clients
Experience with Amazon SageMaker Studio a plus
Ability to partner effectively with a broad range of audiences including senior business leaders, senior analytics leaders, and highly technical talent
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Solid understanding of credit card industry financial P&L drivers and key sensitivities, with business performance reporting experience
Ability to innovate and find creative solutions to meeting business goals
Proven ability to work independently yet as key member and contributor to a broader team
Demonstrated ability to manage complexity/ambiguity and multiple initiatives
Advanced skills using Excel and PowerPoint with expertise in data visualization and storytelling
Grade/Level: 13
The salary range for this position is 155,000.00 - 260,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
Eligibility Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older

You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.
