Job Description

What is the opportunity?  

As Director, Wealth Management Sustainability Strategy, you will play a key role in the development and advancement of Wealth Management’s global strategic agenda, with a specific focus on sustainability and responsible investing.

You will partner with Wealth Management (WM) lines of businesses, Functional and Enterprise teams to design and develop WM Sustainability strategy and underlying WM initiatives that contribute to the RBC Purpose Framework.

This role sits at the center of the Wealth Management organization, providing rigorous analysis, strategic insight, and thought leadership to support the development of key strategic priorities, including long-term sustainable growth and responsible investing leadership.

What will you do?

  • Serve as the WM Sustainability lead and subject matter expert; working with lines of business partners across Wealth Management as well as Enterprise partners to build and deliver WM Sustainability strategy.

  • Enable WM lines of business partners (LOBs) to deliver and report on key initiatives in support of the WM Sustainability strategy.  Initiate and lead WM cross-business initiatives in collaboration with the LOBs.

  • Report and communicate progress on measurable sustainability impacts through WM community investments, employee, client and community engagement programs.

  • Represent RBC Wealth Management at the enterprise level to help shape RBC’s Sustainability and Climate strategies, as well as bring an external perspective on key industry trends.

  • Provide thought leadership, education and training to advisors on Responsible Investing

  • Utilize AI-enabled tools, data analytics, and technologies to enhance strategic research, market analysis, and insight generation. Help embed data-driven and technology-enabled approaches into the strategy development process

  • Contribute to the development of the Wealth Management Strategy & Transformation function by mentoring team members, driving analytical capabilities, and strengthening strategic thinking across the organization.

Must Have

  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and ownership mindset, with a track record of proactively identifying opportunities, challenging assumptions, and delivering meaningful business impact

  • Enterprise mindset with the ability to operate horizontally across business lines and functions

  • Ability to translate strategy into execution and identify leverage points across complex initiatives

Nice to Have 

  • A passion for sustainability and creating innovative solutions

  • Strong understanding of wealth management industry dynamics

  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills

  • Entrepreneurial mindset

  • 5-10+ years of experience in strategy, management consulting, or financial services

  • Familiarity with AI, data analytics, or emerging technologies in financial services

  • Experience synthesizing complex insights into clear executive communication
