This VP Product Development & Technology is the senior technical leader in the organization responsible for all research & development, product development, technical innovation, and project execution in the business. As a Senior Leadership Team (SLT) member, this position is essential to steering the overall growth direction of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Define Technology Roadmap: Ultimate responsibility for the development and implementation of the Company’s technology roadmap.
Build Agile High Performing Team: Build a high performance organization of individual contributors, managers, and directors capable of executing Company strategy.
Own Customer Relationships: Build and maintain senior level technical relationships at top customers. Use relationships to drive product innovation needs.
Launch Product & Technology: Ultimate responsibility for product development, R&D and product launch into Operations.
Champion for Safety and Continuous Improvement: Drive Safety first and Continuous Improvement mindset across our technical organization.
Protect Technology: Ensure compliance with CMMC, IP and Trade Secret protocols throughout the innovation process.
Major Challenges:
Must be able to prioritize across multiple simultaneous tasks to drive best overall business outcome at industry leading Speed.
Must lead an agile team to flex and satisfy requirements of 6 different businesses.
Must develop a process to scale non-linearly to headcount.
Must be able to translate technical, quality, commercial and operational requirement differences across 6 major businesses and translate into ability to capture technical value.
Must be able to work across sister organizations (dozens) to spot overall technical synergies to grow the overall corporation.
Must be comfortable being Mott technology champion in front of Customers and develop rapid pathways to a solution for Customer. This includes working with Customers, Suppliers and Government Partners.
Outcomes:
Develop technical roadmap capable of doubling EBITDA within a 3 year window.
Deliver roadmap milestones with 90% on time delivery or better.
Within 180 days, define current state organization identifying missing skills/talent, and implement plans for key employee development.
Use customer relationships to drive at least 3 innovations quarterly in each of the top markets.
Cascade customer need into team for action.
98%+ on time delivery of product launches to within 10% as estimated cost.
Lead Safety first culture throughout technical organization to ensure generation and closure of 200 safety opportunities annually.
Lead CI strategy in Engineering to find 7-figure efficiency savings annually.
Define Company IP strategy and implement to achieve target IP, Trade Secret, and CMMC targets.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor and Master degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial or Material Science Eng. PhD a plus. MBA a plus.
15+ years’ industry experience in highly engineered solutions environment.
Semiconductor, Space Exploration, or Defense industry experience a plus.
5+ years’ executive technical leadership.
Proven track record of IP generation, IP management.
Experience with Government grants and funding a plus.
Proven track record of deriving technical value pre-sale, helping commercial teams capture 8-figure or above value.

Total Rewards
The compensation range for this position is $203,600.00 - $305,400.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.Benefits Package
