Role Summary

Kensington Tours is seeking a senior commercial leader to transform and professionalize its global sourcing function across Destination Management Companies (DMCs) and other key partners. This role is responsible for driving measurable COGS reduction, elevating vendor performance standards, and building a best-in-class commercial sourcing organization. This is not a traditional procurement role. It is a strategic commercial leadership position with enterprise-level impact on margin, competitiveness, and supplier leverage.


Key Responsibilities

Commercial Leadership

  • Drive sustainable COGS reduction while protecting product quality
  • Develop and execute global sourcing strategy across Main and Niche DMCs and other key partners
  • Establish clear margin discipline and cost transparency

Vendor Strategy & Negotiation

  • Identify new vendor partners to support our Product and Market expansion strategies
  • Lead high-stakes negotiations with global suppliers
  • Redefine legacy partner relationships through disciplined commercial standards

Operational Discipline

  • Design and implement vendor scorecards (economics + quality)
  • Establish structured business review cadence
  • Centralize vendor management and reduce fragmentation

Team Building

  • Build and lead a high-performing Procurement team
  • Upgrade talent and commercial capability
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Sales, and Analytics

Qualifications

  • 12–15+ years in senior commercial sourcing, buying, or strategic procurement
  • Demonstrated track record of measurable margin improvement
  • Experience negotiating complex global supplier agreements
  • Strong financial and analytical capability
  • Experience building or transforming a sourcing function

Preferred:

  • Travel, hospitality, retail buying, airline, or related industry experience

Success Metrics

  • Measurable improvement in COGS vs baseline
  • Implementation of vendor scorecard framework
  • Rationalized and tiered DMC base
  • Improved hotel rate competitiveness
