S&P Global is seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Finance, Special Projects, with an initial assignment to support our Commercial, Revenue, and Annual Contract Value (ACV) initiatives within the Global Energy Division. This role is critical in providing strategic financial consultation, leadership and contributing to our mission to provide insightful financial guidance across the organization.

The Team:

Reporting to the CFO, S&P Global Energy & Customer Client Office (CCO), leading large teams and working alongside colleagues supporting other areas of the Energy business and our CCO.  The team is located in the UK, US, Malaysia, Pakistan and the Philippines.


Your First Project:

  • Provide strategic financial consultation to the Global Energy Division, leveraging your expertise to make complex judgments with material impact on business operations.

  • Lead strong, experienced teams covering the following functions:

    • Revenue, ACV and Royalty reporting – providing business critical reporting and insights.

    • Commission team - designing and calculating incentives to drive our high-performance culture.

    • Partnering with the Chief Commercial Officer to drive sales performance with analysis of financial data and resource allocation. Implementing and enforcing commercial policies to align with our strategy.

    • Partnering with the Chief Experience Officer to transform our customer experience, internal tools, and drive growth through marketing initiatives.

  • Navigate a multidimensional operating environment with a significant level of complexity, collaborating with our finance and business functions to ensure alignment with S&P Global's strategic goals.

  • Promote an enterprise mindset among team members based in the US, UK, Philippines, Indonesia, and Pakistan, encouraging collaboration and innovation.

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $250k to $320k. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.

  • 10+ years of experience in finance, with a focus on FP&A, strategic financial management, and team leadership.

  • Proven experience in a senior finance role within a commercial finance environment.

  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition, financial modelling, and performance metrics.

  • Experience with M&A and Enterprise Forecasting.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively, with a focus on mentoring and developing talent.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.

  • Experience working in a global, multi-cultural environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a track record of building relationships across all levels of an organization.

  • Experience with Anaplan
