Essential Responsibilities:
• (25 %) Manage the process to measure and monitor SECU’s interest risk position (NEV and NII). Establish best practices, documentation, and governance for ALM modeling and reporting.
• (25 %) Develop scenarios and build balance sheet analytics to support forecasting and reporting of income, liquidity, and capital position under diverse economic conditions. Enhance dashboards and KPIs to provide visibility into margin drivers and balance sheet trends.
• (20 %) Partner with Accounting, Loan/Deposit Administration, and other business units to align financial assumptions and FTP methodologies.
• (20 %) Assist in formulation and completion of annual Capital Plan document ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and long-term institutional goals.
• (10 %) Serve as an internal consultant on macroeconomic trends, proactively identifying risks and opportunities in the shifting financial landscape. Remain abreast of best practices within the industry through publications, membership in professional organizations and contact with other financial institutions.
Required Education & Experience (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Business, or a quantitative field.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in ALM, financial risk management, or financial modeling.
• Thorough knowledge of financial statements, forecasting, and performance metrics.
• Deep understanding of fixed-income investments, derivative instruments, and the risk characteristics of retail financial products.
• Ability to distill complex financial theory into concise, high-impact presentations for non-finance audiences.
• Advanced proficiency in ALM modeling software (e.g., QRM, ZMdesk, or FIS) and the Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Education & Experience (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):
• Advanced Credentials: Master’s/MBA, PhD, or professional designations (CFA, FRM).
• Hands-on experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI or Tableau) to drive data-led storytelling
• 5+ years supervisory experience
• Proven track record of mentoring high-performing quantitative teams.
• Able to provide direct, and "actionable" positive and corrective feedback to others
