Job Description

The VP – Marketing Materials, Fund Registration & Distribution will be based in India and serve as an offshore leader supporting Legal & Compliance activities related to fund marketing materials, fund registration, and distribution support, delivered through the India Center of Excellence (CoE). This role is designed for legal and compliance professionals or qualified lawyers with strong judgment, operational execution skills, and proven team leadership.

The role will provide leadership across operational teams supporting global Legal, Compliance, Distribution, and Business Unit stakeholders. The VP will partner closely with compliance professionals and external stakeholders to support well‑governed, timely, and compliant marketing and distribution activities across jurisdictions, while maintaining high legal and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and accountability for marketing and due diligence materials review, fund registration, and distribution‑related support delivered through the India CoE.

  • Act as an operational partner to global in‑house Legal, Compliance, and Distribution stakeholders.

  • Ensure consistent delivery standards, quality, and rigor across all supported activities.

  • Serve as an offshore escalation point for complex operational, regulatory, and risk‑related matters.

  • Provide day‑to‑day supervision and ongoing training and development of team members, ensuring strong subject matter knowledge and professional capability across supported functions.

  • Drive standardization and efficiency across supported processes while accommodating jurisdictional, regulatory, and product‑specific requirements.

  • Establish and maintain appropriate governance frameworks, service‑level expectations, and performance metrics.

  • Identify and execute opportunities for process improvement and operating model enhancements, including with the team’s follow-the-sun global model and AI regulatory review agents.

  • Ensure strong controls, recordkeeping, documentation, and audit readiness across all supported activities.

  • Support global stakeholders across time zones, including outside of regular business hours as required.

Qualifications

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who work well in a team-driven working group, are highly motivated, intelligent, have sound judgment and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. 

The successful candidate must have:

  • 10+ years of experience, including experience at a law firm and/or in‑house legal or compliance role.

  • Prior exposure to fund marketing materials, fund registration, distribution, or related regulatory processes.

  • Strong understanding of legal and regulatory considerations applicable to private funds and distribution activities.

  • Experience leading or coordinating offshore or shared‑services teams.

  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills and strong execution mindset.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus.
