Position Overview:
The Vice President, Institutional Custody Administrator serves as the primary point of contact at Wintrust Private Trust Company with the Great Lakes Advisors (GLA) relationship managers when WPT is asked to serve as Custodian over a GLA managed account/relationship. This role will work closely with the GLA team in responding to Custody-related responses to RFP in a timely manner. The role will focus on a high level of client service including prompt attention to client requests, both externally and internally with WPT and GLA partners. The VP Custody Administrator will ensure strict adherence to banking regulations, including OCC fiduciary standards, and internal audit requests. The VP will oversee asset transfer, support onboarding of large relationships; cash management, safekeeping, trade settlement, and reporting functions, maintaining a strong internal control environment aligned with WPT’s and Wintrust’s enterprise risk framework.
The custody operations and control responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Oversee asset safekeeping, settlement, and reconciliation functions
Ensure Accurate processing of all requests and corporate actions, income collections and proxy events, where applicable
Supervise daily cash management and overdraft monitoring
Review exception reporting, trade fails, and suspension balances
Escalate material issues through established risk governance channels
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
7-10 years of bank trust department or institutional custody experience
Solid investment knowledge with specific proficiency in bond accounting, including interest accruals, amortization of premiums/discounts, pricing verification, and reconciliation of fixed income holdings within custody systems.
Familiarity with core trust accounting systems (FIS Trust Desk or similar platforms)
Advanced fiduciary discipline
Deep regulatory fluency
Advanced communication skills – both written and verbal

Compensation:
The estimated salary range for this role is $71,000 - $92,000, along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and experience.
