Vice President, Capital Projects - Project & Development Services (PDS)
An exciting opportunity for an experienced consulting business leader in the role of Vice President, Capital Projects, Project & Development Services (“PDS”) driving our Toronto Institutional and Industrial sectors. This role combines strategic business development, work winning and client relationship management with team leadership, and hands-on project oversight.
Based out of our downtown Toronto office, the successful candidate will have proven experience in the local market, be a great communicator possessing positive energy, and will be required to collaborate with JLL peers, service lines, and partners.
What this job involves:
Relationships
Cultivating new and existing business relationships.
Collaborating with JLL peers, regional and other practice leads, and SMEs to leverage JLL’s vertically integrated real estate services platform.
Developing relationships with owners, landlords, tenants, developers, institutions, architects, engineers, and/or contractors.
Building rapport with key client representatives and soliciting feedback on our PM performance.
Assisting clients in the development of creative real estate strategies linked to their business objectives.
Business Growth and Development
Developing and executing the sector growth and marketing plans.
Strategically networking, sourcing business leads, and representing JLL at industry events.
Positioning JLL PDS as a market leader in project management delivery.
Marketing the available JLL service offerings.
Contributing ideas to new product development and service delivery strategies.
Leading the pursuit strategy, sourcing, positioning, pitching, and securing new business.
Team Management
Working with leadership on resource planning needs, liaising with JLL recruitment, attracting top talent, and negotiating offers of employment as and when required.
Energizing, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and supporting the growth of your team.
Fostering an environment of accountability, excellence, inclusivity, collaboration, innovation.
Being an example and educating your team of JLL and PDS expectations and policies.
Project Management
Negotiating and executing contracts, resourcing, and overseeing projects through its lifecycle.
Balancing resources and assigning work to maintain performance while managing project finances.
Providing project management leadership on the set up, governance and framework structure for large capital projects or programs.
Actively helping your team solve problems on projects and providing peer review assessments of key deliverables if or as required.
Establishing and tracking project performance criteria to meet and exceed client expectations while honoring requirements of the Contract/scope of service.
Making sure projects maintain consistent best practice procedures and processes.
Being each client’s highest level of contact and escalation.
Operations Management
Supporting the development and execution of the Sector business plan.
Forecasting revenue, cash flow, and resource needs with a view to achieving established financial goals.
Actively managing and monitoring project portfolio P&L – Revenue, Accounts Receivable, Backlog, Utilization – to achieve or exceed targets.
Invoice and collections oversight.
Review and approve time-off requests, expenses, timecards.
Managing risk, and accurately informing local JLL leadership of project, internal, and client issues that have potential to affecting operational targets, significant project performance, and JLL‘s reputation.
Required Qualifications:
12+ years’ experience in Management Consulting, Real Estate Project Management, Real Estate Development, Engineering or Architecture.
Proven experience in Institutional (education, healthcare, government), and/or Industrial (logistics, manufacturing, high-tech facilities) Real Estate Sectors.
5+ years of managerial and leadership experience with a proven ability to manage P&L, successfully grow a team and business.
An Industry qualification designation such PMP, LEED, WELL etc.
Led major capital projects of $10M+ from inception to completion without supervision.
Solid understanding of contract types and competency of contract administration.
Ability to travel within Canada and the US
Preferred Qualifications:
University Degree in Real Estate, Engineering or Architecture or related subjects.
Experience with or understanding or knowledge of Integrated Project Delivery is an asset.
Experience with MS Project or other scheduling software is an asset.

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
