Major Duties:

  • Reviews invoice packages, purchase orders, and contracts for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Researches and resolves vendor inquiries in a timely manner, providing clear and accurate responses.
  • Analyzes discrepancies and payment issues to identify variances and ensure proper resolution.
  • Identifies root causes of issues and supports the implementation of appropriate corrective actions.
  • Performs basic process improvement efforts by identifying recurring issues, reporting them to supervisors, and assisting with simple fixes to help reduce errors, enhance efficiency, and support more efficient workflows

Qualifications: To qualify for the Voucher Examiner, PG - 0540 - 7 , you must meet the following requirements: To qualify for the PG-07 grade level: Applicants must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the PG-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities, to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized Experience includes: (1) examining claims and invoices to ensure all required processing information is accurate and complete; (2) entering payment data into computerized payment processing systems with attention to detail; and (3) reviewing policies, guidelines, and regulations to determine the applicability of specific provisions to each claim submission. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
