The Volunteer Services Coordinator supports the volunteer program to ensure the best possible experience for our volunteers who contribute service for the betterment of SJRMC. Additionally, they will focus on setting the culture for a memorable patient and guest service.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must maintain confidentiality at all times
  • May need to work flexible hours
  • Must possess a friendly, outgoing personality and exhibit strong customer service skills.  This includes attitude, phone etiquette, desire to meet or exceed customer expectations, and have great communication skills.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent typing and organizational skills with experience in Microsoft Office products
  • Strong skills in Word and Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Have the ability to deal with many different personality styles, age differences, etc.
  • Possess a patient demeanor
  • Possess excellent project management skills
  • Must possess Supervisory/coaching skills

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain files for all volunteers, along with a database to meet regulatory requirements
  • Maintain files as needed for reporting, board requirements, etc. 
  • Keeps minutes of meetings as needed
  • Responsible for all compliance training and annual competencies for volunteers
  • Provide clerical support to the Volunteer Services Manager as needed
  • Conduct new Volunteer orientation in the absence of the Volunteer Manager
  • Maintain accurate records for the Auxiliary regarding educational assistance
  • Assist with events such as luncheons, trainings, receptions, etc.
  • Oversees educational assistance process from applications to final approvals and award of funds
  • Ensures repayment of education funds is monitored and updated, and every effort is made to recover funds
  • Oversees the primary function of the Information Desk
  • Organization of the information desk, including files, training manuals, and all space in vicinity
  • Ongoing monitoring of Information Desk in the delivery of exceptional service
  • Oversight of scheduling and coverage by volunteers, assessing gaps and providing coverage as needed.  This may include some weekend shifts periodically
  • Monitors trainings, updates, compliance, etc. of Information Desk Team
  • Relays any issues with Volunteers of the Info Desk to the Manager of Volunteer Services
  • Cross training in other roles as needed
  • Each employee is responsible for implementing SJRMC’s Service Standards into their daily work:

  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions:

  • Office setting may involve prolonged sitting or standing, and sometimes walking distances
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of fifteen (15) pounds
  • May endure extensive use of the computer
