Part-time temporary grant funded position. One year only with a possibility of an extension.Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Works closely with the Volunteerism Committee and holds committee meetings as needed
• Recruits volunteers for committees, teams, projects, and general needs; matches volunteers’ skills and interests with OLLI needs.
• Works with the Volunteerism Committee, plans volunteer appreciation events, sends notecards, orders gifts, and coordinates other ways to thank volunteers for their service
• Conducts new Volunteer Orientation sessions
• Monitors volunteer satisfaction
• Oversees and tracks new volunteer onboarding process
• Updates New Volunteer Handbook and distributes during orientation
• Knowledgeable of Voligistics (online volunteer management system) and supports data entry when necessary
• Maintains regular communication with volunteers via Volgistics email messaging; sets reminders for volunteer schedules and tracks volunteer activity
• Updates volunteer applications and monitors the Volgistics link to the OLLI website
• Reports the number of active volunteers and volunteer service hours for the Osher Foundation annual report
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Volunteer coordinator experience
• Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and the ability to learn and become proficient in various software such as Volgistics: Volunteer Management Software System
• Attention to detail
• Planning and organizational skills
Education and Experience
Minimum Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree
• Three years of volunteer coordinator experience
• An equivalent combination of education and experience is qualifying
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Three or more years of volunteer coordinator experience
• Two years of experience working with Lifelong Learning programs
• Higher education experience
