About the Role:
We’re looking for a highly creative and versatile Digital Designer—someone who fluidly combines visual design, art direction, and motion editing. In this hybrid role, you won’t just execute—you’ll ideate, originate, and execute visual stories across static, dynamic and simple video formats.
From shaping the visual concept to editing short-form videos or animating stills, you know how to make content stand out, feel fresh, and drive performance across platforms. You have an eye for turning design into scalable, dynamic templates that power personalized advertising campaigns across a multitude of channels, including video, social media, and display. You will bridge the gap between creative vision and technical execution, ensuring our creative assets are not only visually impactful but also highly efficient and performance driven.
What You'll Do:
- Ideate and originate visual concepts for campaigns and always-on content
- Provide art direction across both static and dynamic assets, ensuring visual consistency, compliance of design to brand guidelines and storytelling impact
- Design and develop high-quality static assets (social posts, banners, display, videos, etc)
- Turn static assets into dynamic content using animation, movement, or transitions
- Perform basic video editing (e.g., edit downs, reshuffling, adding overlays, adapting master edits for different formats)
- Translate master creative into platform-specific content for social, digital, and paid environments
- Collaborate with writers and strategists to bring ideas to life
- Keep up with evolving visual trends and platform specs to ensure content is fresh, relevant, and optimized
- Proficiently use tools such as Adobe’s creative cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, PremierePro, among others) and other creative tools including AI
- Present to and collaborate with the rest of the content team and/or clients on improving the visual craft.
- Optimization & Iterate: Analyze performance data to identify opportunities for template optimization and iterate on designs to improve engagement and conversion rates.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in digital design, with a strong portfolio showcasing dynamic creative work, particularly in template design.
- Proficiency in design software: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro) and Figma/Sketch.
- A blend of both design and technical proficiency in order to take designs to finish product and ultimately to publication
- Business Japanese + proficient spoken/ written English
- Understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript for building and manipulating dynamic ad units. Experience with JavaScript frameworks (e.g., GreenSock GSAP) for animation is a plus.
- Solid grasp of responsive design principles and cross-browser/device compatibility.
- Excellent visual design skills with a keen eye for detail, typography, color, and layout.
- Experience with motion graphics and animation principles for video and rich media.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- A portfolio demonstrating your ability to design and implement dynamic, scalable creative solutions.
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Experience with DCO platforms/tools (e.g., Google Web Designer, Celtra, Jivox, Ad-Lib.io, Smartly.io, Adobe Creative Cloud Express, or similar) is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with A/B testing methodologies for creative optimization.
- Experience working with product feeds (e.g., Google Merchant Center feeds).
- Understanding of ad serving technologies and common ad specifications (e.g., IAB standards, VAST/VPAID for video).
