The Visual Merchandising Manager is a strategic and creative leader responsible for developing and executing visual merchandising strategies that elevate the customer experience and reflect YETI’s brand identity across all retail locations. This role plays a critical part in driving sales, enhancing brand storytelling, and ensuring consistent execution through scalable processes, training, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
· Adapt and implement visual merchandising (VM) standards, seasonal strategies, and scalable processes that align with brand identity and customer behavior.
· Deliver training programs, visual merchandising guides, and seasonal directives to ensure consistent execution and foster a culture of creativity and innovation.
· Coach, develop and mentor store/field teams on visual standards, fixturing, storytelling techniques, and best practices for product placement and displays.
· Execute visually compelling displays that highlight key products, enhance discoverability, and support storytelling across all retail locations.
· Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, retail operations, brand experience, merchandising, and planning/allocations teams to support product launches, seasonal campaigns, and promotional events.
· Analyze sales data and customer insights to evaluate the impact of VM initiatives and present key metrics and recommendations to senior leadership.
· Facilitate VM training and set-up for new store openings, seasonal floor resets, and product launches, including fixture planning, product mapping, and display execution.
· Conduct regular store visits to assess VM standards, provide guidance, and gather feedback on customer preferences, product performance, and display effectiveness.
· Manage fixture inventory and coordinate with vendors and suppliers to source and maintain visual merchandising materials, signage, and props.
· Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with store and regional managers to ensure adequate stock for effective visual displays.
· Stay current on industry trends, competitor strategies, and emerging retail design techniques to continuously evolve YETI’s visual merchandising approach.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in visual merchandising, marketing, fashion, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
· Minimum 5 years of experience in visual merchandising within a retail environment.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) and Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with rendering software/tools is a plus.
· Strong understanding of retail operations, visual presentation techniques, and how visual displays influence customer behavior and sales.
· Strategic thinker with a creative mindset and storytelling expertise.
· Impeccable attention to detail and ability to develop innovative merchandising strategies.
· Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and training/facilitation skills.
· Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Self-motivated, agile, proactive, and solution-oriented with a strong sense of urgency.
· Adaptable and resilient with a positive, can-do attitude.
· Ability to travel up to 40% based on business needs and store openings.
· Capable of lifting and moving heavy objects and fixtures as needed.
