Visiting Faculty in Biomedical Sciences

Summary:  The Department of Biomedical Sciences is searching for a visiting instructor to teach undergraduate courses including courses in anatomy and physiology starting in January 2026.  This position appointment is an 18-month term with the possibility of renewal for up to two additional years of 9-month terms (3 years total).   

Required Qualifications and Education:

  • Advanced degree in related discipline
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, such as the ability to interact with others with respect and empathy. 
  • Individuals from all backgrounds, including from underrepresented groups, are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates must be able to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and community members with a broad range of backgrounds and experiences

Preferred Qualifications and Education:  

  • Teaching experience preferred, but not required
  • Experience in nutrition, human anatomy or physiology, and accompanying instructional laboratories is highly desirable

Responsibilities:  

  • Teach 12 credit/contact hours per semester

Salary/Benefits: The salary is $50,000.

Department/College: The Biomedical Sciences Department has approximately 900 undergraduate majors and 44 full-time faculty members. It also has an expanding Master’s degree program with both thesis and non-thesis students. We offer a variety of courses in anatomy, physiology, microbiology, nutrition, and neurosciences that support our Biomedical Sciences majors, as well as courses that support other health science majors, the university’s general education program and select graduate programs. Along with our primary teaching and research facilities, a science building was recently completed to support further laboratory opportunities for students and faculty, including a vivarium, an aquatic facility, plastination lab, and microscopy suite with a confocal microscope.
