The Department of Decision Sciences and Economics at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC) invites applications for a full-time 9-month, non-tenure track, Visiting Assistant Professor of Business Economics beginning Fall 2026. We seek a forward-thinking scholar to play a pivotal role in the strategic launch of our new interdisciplinary Artificial Intelligence curriculum. The successful candidate will bridge economic theory with applied Artificial Intelligence (AI), integrating predictive machine learning and Generative AI systems with econometrics and data analytics. This position will be located at the Corpus Christi campus.
We seek a scholar who has obtained a doctoral degree in Economics, Data Analytics or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited (or equivalent) institution. The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to teaching and research excellence. In addition to teaching core courses in Economics, the candidate will be instrumental in teaching and shaping new curriculum, including courses covering Applied Machine Learning for Business, AI Strategy, and Generative AI prototyping. This position features primary teaching responsibilities at the undergraduate and graduate levels and may require a combination of in-person, online, and HyFlex courses.

Responsibilities:
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses bridging Economics, Data Analytics, and Applied AI.
Co-lead the implementation of new AI-focused curriculum, guiding students through practical applications such as predictive modeling, AI workflow automation, and Minimum Viable Product (MVP) prototyping.
Continue to conduct high quality research in the field.
Required Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in Economics, Data Analytics or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited (or equivalent) institution.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the principles level and in upper-level economics courses.
Preferred Qualifications:
Expertise in teaching Machine Learning and Data Analytics.
Experience teaching online and HyFlex courses
Experience teaching graduate courses
