Visiting Assistant Professor, Accounting (Non-Tenure Track)

The Department of Accounting invites applicants for a visiting, non-tenure track position at the rank of assistant professor for the 2026 – 2027 academic year. The appointment is scheduled to begin on August 16, 2026.

Candidates must have earned a doctorate in Accounting from an AACSB-accredited university by August 15, 2026.

The Department of Accounting offers a B.S. and an M.S. in Accounting, as well as an M.S. in Taxation. Consistent with our mission, LMU has a strong commitment to educational excellence. Candidates with research and teaching interests in financial reporting or taxation are preferred, but other areas of accounting will be considered. Relevant professional experience and professional certification (CPA or CMA) are desirable.

  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Accounting, with preference given to candidates whose teaching and research interests are in financial reporting and/or taxation (other areas of accounting will also be considered).
  • Demonstrate a commitment to excellent, inclusive, and equitable teaching, including the use of pedagogical approaches that support student belonging, accessibility, and success for learners from a wide range of backgrounds.
  • Maintain an active scholarly research agenda, appropriate to a visiting appointment, that may engage questions of ethics, equity, social impact, or justice within accounting, taxation, financial reporting, or related areas. Research experience is essential to the educational mission of the Department, as it informs high‑quality teaching, curricular relevance, and the preparation of students to think critically about the role of accounting in organizations and society.
  • Contribute to the intellectual life of the Department and College in ways that support a culture of respect, inclusion, and shared responsibility.
