Job Summary
In this role, the VH role reports to the Director of Virtual Health and is responsible for management of virtual health initiatives. Under the guidance of the Director, this role will manage the expansion of the virtual health footprint across strategic areas and service lines in the Memorial Hermann Health System by implementing virtual health in a prioritized fashion. A major focus for this role would be to partner with the leads in the physician organization for developing and sustaining virtual/digital health programs and initiatives related to primary care access and chronic disease management to manage the health of the population/community served by the system. This role will additionally work with service lines (leadership) to proactively identify, plan, implement and monitor successful virtual health programs along the patient journey in those service lines in a patient-centric manner. Key to success in these areas will be a good understanding of value drivers for the primary care and other specialty service lines and a strategic understanding of how virtual health can be leveraged to overcome provider and patient friction points by leveraging virtual health and deliver value to the patients in these services. A significant driver to the primary care service line will be providing on-demand virtual health to consumers to meet the community need during the pandemic and beyond. Collaborates with Clinical, Operational, Information System Division (ISD), and Analytics leadership to implement highly impactful virtual health program strategies. Regularly interfaces with Consumerism, Marketing, Revenue Cycle, Legal, and Compliance for ensuring that systems are put in place to make virtual health compliant and sustainable across various initiatives. Serves as a thought leader - establishing key metrics, facilitating working team meetings, identifying and helping to mitigate risks and issues, and ensuring that desired results are achieved. Ensures that Virtual health processes are embedded in ongoing operations and supports achievement of organizational goals and objectives. Has strong understanding of clinical workflows both in the acute and ambulatory settings and where virtual health can add value along these workflows. Understands ( and is well versed with) the practical application of virtual/digital health technologies beyond video visits- telemedicine carts, consumer devices, wearables, remote patient monitoring mobile health applications, chronic disease management & behavioral health management applications. Typically reports to the Director of Virtual Health.Hybrid role that requires travel to the office depending on business needs (must reside in the greater Houston area)

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare related field (e.g. Administration, Business, and/or health Sciences) from an accredited academic body is required. Master’s degree preferred.
Licenses/Certifications: Nursing telehealth or telebehavioral health certifications preferred.
Experience / Knowledge / Skills
5+ years of broad healthcare experience, with a focus in virtual health/telehealth in a large and complex health system and demonstrable experience in pertinent areas as listed in the profile. Strong preference for candidates with previous clinical experience in a hospital or office setting in patient care. Previous experience in development and implementation of new virtual health programs is required. Strong project management experience is ideal. New programs origination and implementation experience with program development. Forward-thinking, entrepreneurial and innovative mindset to help develop and drive future virtual health strategy. Strong interpersonal and client management skills to work effectively with consumers, physicians and senior operational leaders
Able to function well in an ambiguous environment, and possess a strong bias for action and taking ownership for initiatives- following through for achieving results.
Strong verbal and presentation communication skills
Good working knowledge of billing and coding standards and procedures for primary care and specialty practice, especially the ICD-10 and CPT systems, as well as documentation, regulatory, compliance and Meaningful Use standards. Broad understanding of healthcare and policy trends (e.g., environment, market, payor, provider, regulatory) l Strong time management skills to permit working within tight deadlines and multiple projects
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Serves as a point of contact for Virtual health, both institutionally and publicly serves as the virtual health expert to inform broader organizational initiatives
Participates with creating the virtual health program budget including profit and loss statements for personnel and virtual health products.
Supports the development & fine-tuning of the virtual health strategy to dual focus areas of volume-driven fee-for service activity and efforts to lower cost and increase efficiency in a value-based population
