ROLE OVERVIEW
The Videographer works closely with the Content Manager, Stylists, Producers, Editors, and Social Media team to produce elevated, social-first content for Fashion Nova’s digital platforms. This role is highly hands-on and execution-focused, with responsibilities spanning shooting, directing, and editing content for social media.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working fluidly across production and post-production. They can collaborate closely with editors by clearly communicating creative intent and deliverables, while also being capable of editing content themselves as workflows continue to evolve internally.
This role is focused on creating trend-driven, fashion-forward content that positions Fashion Nova at the forefront of social media and digital culture.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conceptualize, shoot, and edit social-first content primarily for Fashion Nova’s social media platforms, including: Reels, Short-form video content, Carousel posts, Trend-driven and reactive social formats
- Capture elevated content that supports: Collection launches, product-focused storytelling, styling-driven moments, social trends and platform-native formats
- Shoot using professional camera systems and iPhone, with a strong understanding of framing, movement, and visual storytelling for social media.
- Set up and manage lighting for studio and on-location shoots, ensuring polished, on-brand visuals.
- Direct models and talent on set in close collaboration with the Content Manager, Stylists, and Producers to achieve confident, fashion-forward performances.
- Collaborate closely with in-house editors by:
- Communicating creative direction, selects, pacing, and references
- Providing clear post-production notes
- Aligning on deliverables and formats
- Edit content independently when needed, supporting flexible workflows, fast turnarounds, and evolving production needs.
- Partner daily with the Content Manager, Stylists, Producers, Editors, and the Social Media team to ensure content is elevated, trend-aware, and optimized for platform performance.
- Stay ahead of fashion, social, and cultural trends to continuously evolve content and maintain Fashion Nova’s leadership in digital storytelling.
- Maintain consistency in brand aesthetic while pushing creative boundaries within social-first formats.
- Demonstrate agility, ownership, and problem-solving in a fast-paced, high-output creative environment.
- Demonstrate agility in accepting and incorporating feedback within a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- 4+ years of experience in videography and social content creation, ideally within fashion, retail, or eCommerce.
- Proven ability to both shoot and edit social content; comfort working across both roles as needed.
- Strong experience shooting with iPhone and professional camera equipment for social platforms.
- Solid understanding of lighting, composition, camera movement, and directing talent.
- Working knowledge of editing workflows, formats, and best practices for social media platforms.
- Deep understanding of Instagram, TikTok, and emerging social formats, including how content performs across different placements.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, especially when working closely with the Content Manager and cross-functional creative teams.
High cultural awareness with a strong pulse on fashion trends, internet culture, and social media behavior.
Organized, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
PORTFOLIO REQUIREMENTS
To be considered, applicants must submit a portfolio that includes:
- Social-first video examples (Reels, TikToks, short-form content, or similar)
- Examples of content you personally shot and edited
- Fashion, retail, or product-focused content preferred
- A brief description of your role in each project (shooting, editing, directing, or all of the above)
