Our vertically integrated model gives us total control over every part of the energy lifecycle – from sale through installation and beyond – so you can find endless opportunities for growth. Come join a career you can grow in and a culture you can run with.

POSITION SUMMARY

At Sunrun, we are building a company that really matters. You’ll join a forward-thinking, industry-disrupting team in creating experiences that help homeowners across the country access affordable, clean energy. As a Senior Video Editor, you will be the final architect of our brand’s narrative. You are responsible for delivering professionally polished, high-impact videos that move the needle across all consumer-facing and internal sales channels.

You will bring the Sunrun mission to life through a diverse range of deliverables—from high-gloss Connected TV (CTV) commercials and long-form educational content to rapid-fire social ads and sales recruitment spotlights. We are looking for an editor who doesn't just "cut footage" but understands how to manipulate pace, sound, and story to drive human action.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Storytelling & Narrative Mastery

  • Strategic Editing: Manipulate and edit footage to match creative briefs, ensuring every cut serves a clear purpose—whether it is educating a homeowner or motivating a sales recruit.

  • Human-Centered Content: Create emotional, people-first stories that simplify complex solar technology into digestible, actionable visual narratives.

  • Structural Integrity: Reorder and fine-tune content to ensure a logical flow of information, maintaining a deep obsession with story structure and the hook.

Multi-Platform Execution

  • Platform Fluency: Masterfully manage deliverables across multi-platform aspect ratios (9:16, 4:5, 16:9), understanding how consumers experience video differently on a TV screen versus a mobile feed.

  • Sound & Emotion: Select and edit music and sound design to achieve a specific emotional effect, ensuring audio is as polished and professional as the visuals.

  • Graphic Integration: Create and test motion graphic elements and typography to ensure brand cohesion and accessibility (captions, callouts, and lower thirds).

Innovation & Process Excellence

  • AI-Assisted Workflow: Proactively leverage AI tools for transcription, rotoscoping, color grading, and smart b-roll selection to expedite delivery without compromising quality.

  • Post-Production Oversight: Finalize all technical aspects, including color correction, audio mixing, and compression guidelines, to meet exact delivery specifications.

  • Creative Review Management: Navigate the creative feedback loop with high EQ—knowing how to address notes from stakeholders (VPs, Directors, or Sales Leads) while protecting the underlying integrity of the story.

REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, AND OTHER SKILLS)

  • Experience: 5-7+ years of creative experience in professional video editing, preferably within an agency or high-growth in-house team.

  • Software Mastery: Professional mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition) and/or DaVinci Resolve.

  • The Triage Mindset: A natural ability to multitask and manage several high-priority projects simultaneously, prioritizing based on business urgency and ROI.

  • Visual Problem Solver: Proficient in developing storyboards and edit-scripts to visualize the final product before the first cut is made.

  • AI Literacy: Familiarity with using generative AI and machine-learning tools within the video post-production ecosystem to find workflow efficiencies.

  • Collaborative Spirit: Ability to collaborate with Designers, Copywriters, and Sales leads to take a project from a rough concept to a pixel-perfect export.

  • Attention to Detail: An obsession with the small things—safe areas, frame-accurate cuts, color consistency, and legal compliance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK CONDITIONS

  • Operational Tech Proficiency: Ability to perform standard office duties, including prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk while working on a computer.

  • Visual & Mental Focus: Must possess high visual and auditory acuity; ability to maintain intense focus for extended periods during meticulous editing, color grading, and sound mixing sessions.
