Whether you come from a background in communications, creative leadership, brand storytelling, or content strategy, you can be successful in this role. We don’t require a specific degree or experience, but we’re looking for translatable skills and relevant expertise. We will provide you with the training and development opportunities needed to build a career here!
About The Role:
Internal communications is one of the ways our culture comes to life. It’s how we stay connected to each other, our mission, and our values. As our Video Creative Manager, you’ll lead the team that helps bring the VU story to life every single day.
This role is part creative director, part people leader, and part strategic partner. You’ll guide the work, set the vision, and roll up your sleeves alongside the team when needed. You’ll partner closely with People Services and Culture leaders to shape clear, human, and meaningful communication that employees actually want to read, watch, and engage with.
Here’s a snapshot of what you’d be doing:
Leading and growing a high-performing internal communications team by setting clear priorities, coaching thoughtfully, and holding a high bar for quality and care.
Balancing team capacity with business needs by managing workflows and focusing energy on the work that matters most.
Partnering closely with People Services, Culture, and leaders across the company to plan and deliver internal communications that feel authentic and true to who we are.
Jumping in when needed to write, edit, shape creative work, and provide constructive feedback to keep projects moving forward.
Strengthening our internal voice and creative approach by listening closely to feedback, using data to improve, and thoughtfully adopting new tools, including AI.
Helping ensure our stories, programs, and values show up consistently and meaningfully across internal channels.
Pitching in wherever needed (excluding licensed tasks) to help foster a supportive and collaborative team culture.
About You:
You don’t need a perfectly linear background to thrive here. We’re less focused on titles or degrees and more interested in your leadership approach, creative instincts, and how you show up for your team.
You might be a great fit if:
You enjoy guiding creative work while also jumping in to help execute when needed.
You have strong instincts for tone, clarity, and storytelling, and know how to tailor messages for different audiences.
You’re comfortable moving between strategy and execution, balancing quality with momentum.
You give thoughtful, constructive feedback and build trust through strong partnerships and follow-through.
You care deeply about culture and believe internal communications should feel human, intentional, and worth people’s time.
You’re curious about using new tools, including AI, in ways that genuinely support teammates and strengthen culture.
You show up consistently and can be counted on to get the job done.
We’re so glad you’re here checking out this opportunity! If this role gets you excited but you’re worried you don’t check every box – don't sweat it. We’re more interested in what you can bring to the team than a perfect checklist. If you’re passionate, driven, and ready to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you. Come as you are, and together we’ll create something amazing.
