Pay Range

$99.75 - $159.60

Major Responsibilities:

  • Executes and supports the enterprise nursing strategic plan to accomplish organizational goals and achieve targeted outcomes. 
  • Provides strategic vision, development, and ongoing evolution including emerging technologies for Advocate Health’s virtual nursing and central telemetry programs.  
  • Ensures the patient care delivery models, clinical, and staffing standards are consistent with current best practice standards, compliant with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards and aligned with the Mission, Vision, and Values of Advocate Health and in collaboration with other enterprise and divisional leaders 
  • Leads enterprise nursing quality and safety initiatives to achieve top decile performance level and uses evidence- based best practice standards 
  • Prepares enterprise operational and capital budgets for nursing assigned areas and supports hospital leaders where nursing services are provided ensuring a return-on-investment for virtual nursing and telemetry programs. 
  • Builds strong, collaborative partnerships between functional areas, including but not limited to HR, Quality, Compliance, IT and Finance to deliver strong operational performance and establishes credibility and trust throughout the system nursing enterprise including but not limited to individual system hospital CNOs, CEOs, clinical staff, corporate peers, and corporate boards through a variety of communication strategies.  
  • Engage frontline nurses, leaders, interprofessional teams, technology partners, and vendors to foster collaboration and promote adoption of innovative care delivery models across the continuum 
  • Model ethical decision-making, integrity, and accountability consistent with the ANA Code of Ethics and AONL standards. 
  • Promote enterprise nursing excellence through Magnet® and Pathway principles, professional development, and advancement of evidence-based practice. 
  • Utilize data analytics and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and demonstrate value. 

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • ​​​​​​​Active registered nurse (RN) license in states of practice and Advanced Nurse Executive Certification required.  ​ 

Education Required:

  • ​​​​​Masters in Nursing or related field required. 

Experience Required:

  • Typically requires 10 years of progressive experience in healthcare leadership.  Three to five years of direct-patient-care nursing experience.

  • ​​Excellent written and oral communications including strong presentation/speaking skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of leadership and staff  
  • ​Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, leadership, critical-thinking and decisions-making skills

  • ​Effectively handles multiple demands simultaneously  
  • ​Ability to work collaboratively with others from multi-disciplines and levels of the organization  
  • ​Proven record to navigate change implementation and execute on strategic planning  
  • ​Ability to foresee and quickly resolve operational and organizational issues that have system impact  
  • ​Proven organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively  
  • ​Proficient computer skills including Microsoft office suite or similar applications ​ 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • ​​​This position requires travel, therefore, will be exposed to weather and road conditions. ​​ 
  • ​​Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.​ 
  • ​​Exposed to a normal office environment.​

  • Doctorate in Nursing Practice or Healthcare Leadership Preferred.
