Job Description:

Dually reporting into the VP Treasury, FTP, Business Architecture and SVP, TDBG and Head of US Treasury, this position owns Treasury's Business Architecture strategy and provides leadership in development and maintenance of Treasury's technology infrastructure in partnership with IT in alignment with the objectives and principles laid out in the strategy. In addition, this position is also responsible for developing, maintaining and operating Treasury's Model Lifecycle Environment "MLE" to ensure delivery of critical risk reports for the bank.

Role Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for defining the vision, strategy, and principles in partnership with Treasury and technology leaders for a technology infrastructure that meets Treasury's tactical and strategic objectives.
  • Responsible for Establishing governance and controls to ensure adherence to the above vision and strategy.
  • Responsible for building capabilities for cross-functional (IRR, Liquidity, Capital, Investments, FTP) integration of data and analytics to drive efficient financial resource optimization.
  • Responsible for driving process and cost efficiencies through active management and consolidation of the tech infrastructure; and the maintaining the right balance between centralized and federated capabilities.
  • Responsible for owning and managing Treasury's shared infrastructure (such as MLE), analytical engines (such as QRM) and reporting tools (such as Tableau, Power BI) to meet Treasury's cross-functional requirements and ensures compliance of these components with applicable policies and regulations.
  • Central point of contact with Treasury's IT to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery of SLAs and projects.
  • Responsible for coordinating Treasury's AI initiatives across functions and teams
  • Keeps abreast with industry/technology developments and provides thought leadership in keeping treasury's tech stack forward looking and future ready.
  • Responsible for proactively managing technology risk and ensures compliance to internal and regulatory requirements and standards; this includes:
    • ensuring appropriate approvals are obtained prior to implementation,
    • maintenance of SLAs and and procedural documentation, and
    • maintenance of a robust control environment and change management practices
  • Leadership & Staff Development
    • Build a strong team exhibiting positive team dynamics by establishing a work environment that encourages productivity and innovation, and adheres to high standards of integrity and professionalism
    • Promote strong staff engagement through the recognition and development of diverse and high performing talent
    • Perform regular assessments of performance
    • Ensure staff have broad awareness of internal requirements applicable to their activities, including those required by TD's Code of Conduct & Ethics

Experience, Skills & Education Required:

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Trusted advisor and effective collaborator who is able to build and maintain strong partnerships with business partners and stakeholders
  • Excellent judgment and analytical skills, and attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python)
  • Working knowledge of prudential regulatory requirements and industry practices applicable to stress testing, market and liquidity risks and model development
  • University degree (Business, Computer and/or Data Science); masters degree; professional designation (CFA, FRM) preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant experience; includes experience building and leading teams and major initiatives as evidenced by successful implementation of large-scale and complex MIS solutions for a treasury and/or risk function
  • Experience working with Cloud environments (specifically Azure) and applications.
