Vice President TMT & Healthcare Sector Team

The Telecom, Media and Technology & Healthcare sector team offers an exciting position in Amsterdam for an ambitious professional who enjoys working in an international environment. The TMT & Healthcare sector team is one of the global specialist sector coverage teams at the heart of ING Wholesale Banking. We provide banking services and complex financial solutions to telecommunication, media, entertainment, technology, satellite, healthcare and pharmaceutical companies globally. As a coverage banker based in Amsterdam, you will play a key role in managing our relationships with internationally operating corporate clients in the Netherlands, as well as supporting the wider EMEA region.

Job Description

You will be responsible for managing client relationships for all clients allocated to you and for supporting the international network with sector expertise. You will manage deal flow and lead teams involved in transactions that have a significant impact on our clients. You will work closely with team members in other locations, as well as with product specialists and local relationship managers across ING. In all your activities, you will aim to meet—and exceed—client needs. Your role is highly diverse, and your main tasks include:

• Building client relationships and maintaining continuous dialogue with industry leaders and sector participants across the Digital Infra sub-sector
• Developing sector knowledge and industry expertise, with a strong curiosity and interest in making deep dives into Digital Infra and becoming a solid TMT&H banker
• Driving strategic dialogue with clients and discussing beyond-banking initiatives
• Maintaining active contacts with other departments and disciplines within ING, such as Corporate Finance, Transaction Management, Portfolio Management, Corporate Sector Lending, Loan Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, Financial Markets, Transaction Services and Risk Management
• Proactively seeking solutions for existing and new clients, contributing to the origination efforts of the team and local relationship managers by preparing sector analyses, presentations and pitch books, and taking the lead in responding to RfPs
• Working with product teams to structure and execute transactions, balancing stakeholder management, ING’s risk appetite and commercial attractiveness for clients
• Assessing and reviewing industry reports and conducting due diligence on clients in a dynamic sector
• Directing balance sheet distribution and syndication activities
• Guiding, training and supervising Associates and Analysts in the team
• Driving and monitoring KYC activities for your clients

Who are we looking for

• An experienced banking professional
• An ambitious individual with a Master’s degree and excellent academic results
• A minimum of seven years of relevant experience
• Strong and proven knowledge of structuring Digital Infra transactions and documentation
• Broad connection with key stakeholders active in Digital Infra and more specifically in Datacenter space
• Someone who is relationship-driven, people-oriented and able to make connections with ease; prior experience in Client Coverage is an advantage
• A strong connector, communicator and highly effective team player
• A proactive professional with strong personal drive and a high level of self-motivation
• Someone with knowledge and understanding of ING’s Wholesale Banking product suite, competitive positioning and risk appetite; previous experience with various stakeholders within Wholesale Banking is a plus
• Affinity with, or prior experience in, the TMT&H sector
• Strong project and time management skills, able to perform under pressure and tight deadlines
• International experience and cultural sensitivity
