Role Overview

Clarion Partners seeks to hire a Vice President, Senior Housing Asset Management to support and execute asset management initiatives within the Senior Housing & Active Adult portfolio. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Senior Housing Asset Management, this individual will play a key role in the day-to-day execution of asset management strategies and business plans to maximize the value of Clarion’s investments.

The Vice President will work closely with the Investments, Research, Portfolio Management, and Capital Markets teams and will be responsible for oversight of assigned assets throughout the investment lifecycle. This role requires strong financial acumen, sound judgment, and a collaborative approach, with a focus on driving performance through active portfolio monitoring and operator engagement.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of Clarion’s Senior Housing Asset Management platform. The individual will be involved in refining processes, enhancing reporting, and supporting the evolution of best practices as the platform expands. In doing so, the Vice President will also play a role in supporting junior team members, contributing to a collaborative environment that fosters development and consistency across the platform.

Responsibilities

  • Execute approved asset-level business plans for Senior Housing & Active Adult investments in coordination with senior leadership.
  • Monitor financial and operational performance across assigned assets, including monthly performance analysis, forecasting, and KPI tracking.
  • Conduct regular operator calls and periodic property visits to review performance, staffing, leasing trends, expense controls, and capital initiatives.
  • Partner with third-party operators to drive occupancy, rate growth, margin improvement, and NOI performance.
  • Collaborate with the Investments team during underwriting and due diligence, including review of operating assumptions, market data, and operator capabilities.
  • Prepare investment committee memoranda, quarterly asset reports, and investor-facing materials.
  • Support annual budgeting and reforecasting processes with operators and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage refinancing, recapitalization, and disposition processes, including coordination of diligence materials and lender/buyer requests.
  • Track and oversee capital expenditure programs and value-enhancement initiatives.
  • Identify operational risks and develop actionable mitigation strategies.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of asset management best practices, reporting standards, and portfolio analytics.
  • Train, mentor, and help develop Analysts and Associates, including reviewing work product and supporting overall team development.

Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of experience in Senior Housing asset management.
  • Experience within an institutional real estate investment manager, REIT, private equity platform, or similar environment.
  • Strong understanding of property-level financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and proven ability to drive performance,
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assets and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience working directly with third-party operators or joint venture partners.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to synthesize complex financial and operational data into actionable insights.
  • Effective communicator with experience preparing investment memoranda and presenting performance updates to senior management.
  • Collaborative team player with strong cross-functional engagement skills.
  • High degree of integrity, accountability, and sound judgment.
  • Self-starter with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and strong attention to detail.
