Deft Research (Minneapolis, MN) is seeking a VP of Sales to join their sales team. Deft Research started in 2005 with the goal of better understanding the shopping habits and motivations of senior purchasing health insurance coverage through the newly created Medicare part D program. 

Job Summary 

  • Primarily selling to health insurance carriers, their agencies, and consultants. 
  • Responsible for developing an existing book of health insurance business and bringing in new business. 
  • VP will work marketing leads, develop own leads, discuss research needs with clients and propose Deft solutions for those needs. 
  • VP will be responsible for presenting all relevant information from proposals to the research team to assist in designing custom quantitative/qualitative market research studies. 
  • VP will work independently with the internal team/vendors to deliver high quality quantitative/qualitative research solutions. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • VP will be responsible for growing client revenue by 10% a year 
  • VP needs to be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. 
  • VP must have excellent communication and group presentation skills. 
  • In addition to external sales responsibility, VP will also have internal Integrity duties to assist Integrity partners with Deft insights. 

Requirements and Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree required 
  • 5+ years of work in health care and/or health insurance is mandatory 
  • 3+ years of work directly with Medicare of ACA is desired 
  • Sales, product, marketing experience a plus 
  • Marketing Research experience a plus 
  • Looking for candidates with excellent communication and group presentation skills 
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% 

Physical Requirements 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer 
  • Must be able to list up to 15 pounds at times
