Ruder Finn is seeking a forward-thinking Vice President to lead strategic communications, change and employee engagement initiatives, helping shape the future of employee experience for a portfolio of key clients. This leader will sit at the intersection of communications, culture, change and transformation, and serve on the leadership team within Ruder Finn’s rf.engage practice – our global center of excellence for internal communications and change management.
As a Vice President, you will serve as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, including executive communications and HR leaders. You’ll oversee a portfolio of accounts, guide cross-functional teams, and play a critical role in new business and evolving our rf.engage offering.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and counsel: Serve as a senior strategic lead across multiple client accounts, providing counsel to clients and team members, and driving account growth
Drive bold, employee-centered programs: Design and deliver integrated initiatives such as employer value propositions, enterprise change strategies, and internal plans, campaigns and activations that connect employees to purpose and performance
Bring innovation to the work: Integrate AI, emerging technologies, and new ways of working to enhance effectiveness and unlock new value for clients
Anchor decisions in data: Leverage research, analytics, and employee listening to shape strategy, measure impact and continuously optimize programs
Drive integrated execution: Lead cross-functional teams (strategy, creative, content, analytics) to deliver cohesive, high-impact work across channels and touchpoints
Lead and grow high-performing teams: Mentor and develop talent, fostering a high-performing culture of curiosity, accountability and excellence
Own business performance: Manage account health with a strong focus on financial stewardship, profitability and sustainable growth
Drive new business: Play integral role in developing new business proposals and identify organic growth opportunities that expand client relationships and rf.engage capabilities
Qualifications
8+ years of experience in corporate communications, internal communications, employee engagement, or change management (agency and/or in-house)
Proven experience managing multiple accounts and leading complex, high-visibility programs
Strong track record of advising senior stakeholders, including executive leadership
Demonstrated ability to develop and lead strategic communications programs with measurable outcomes
Experience managing and developing high-performing teams
Strong understanding of employee engagement strategies and change management frameworks
Experience leveraging research, analytics, and employee sentiment to inform strategy
Curiosity and comfort with integrating AI into communications and workflows
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
Highly collaborative, strategic, and adaptable in fast-paced environments

The anticipated salary range for this position, at the time of posting, is $115,000 – $150,000. The salary of the applicant selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, education, internal equity, geography, relevant years of experience, certifications, skills, abilities of the selected applicant, and other job-related qualifications.
